What is a celebration without streamers and glitter, smile and celebrate big, but here is a Macro Mondays small part of the big celebration.
I just want to celebrate another day of livin'
I just want to celebrate another day of life
I put my faith in the people
But the people let me down
So I turned the other way
And I carry on, anyhow
That's why I'm telling you
I just want to celebrate, yeah, yeah
Another day of living, yeah
I just want to celebrate another day of life

The Streamer-tailed Tyrant is a distinctive resident of Buriti palm groves and seasonally wet grassland from western Bolivia to central Brazil and to northeastern Argentina. Overall these birds appear pale gray with black wings that are highlighted by a patch of cinnamon at the base of the primaries. Aptly named, the Streamer-tailed Tyrant has a long deeply forked tail. Streamer-tailed Tyrants often perch conspicuously on the tops of low trees and bushes and utter a harsh repeated "wurreep" call. They forage by flying low over marshy areas before pouncing to the ground to catch large arthropods.
During courtship, the members of a pair of Streamer-tailed Tyrants perch 10-50 cm apart facing one another, while each bird alternately lowers their head and raises and fans their long tail. The birds then proceed to lower their tail and raise their heads while raising their wings and calling continuously. Source: Birds of the World.

The mist blowing up the valley kept sending up streamers that were lit yellow by the rising sun.

The annual bluebells thing I'm afraid. They're cliché, but a very pretty one when that morning light's pouring through.
Long-tailed Skua is not an easy bird to see in Britain, let alone photograph. It breeds in the Arctic, but winters in sub-Antarctic waters, so we see them in Britain in spring and autumn en route between these areas. More than a thousand are seen most years but many sightings are distant dots at sea. Birds close inshore, or even inland like this one are much rarer. This adult bird was exceptional for being well inland, and exceptionally early for a spring passage bird, presumably blown off course by this week's very strong winds. It spent yesterday feeding on worms in a sheep field on the edge of the Peak District in South Yorkshire.
Adult Long-tailed Skuas are easy to identify as they are smaller and lighter than Arctic Skua, and have much longer tail streamers. They also lack the prominent white wing flashes of Arctic Skua, being limited to just a few pale shafts in the outer wing. Usually they have a tinge of yellow on the pale underparts but this individual was exceptionally white. Young birds are more difficult to separate from young Arctic Skuas.

An upward unconnected leader (or upward streamer as it is more commonly termed) is a positively charged channel of ionized air that rises from ground objects (like buildings, towers, trees or even the ground itself) towards a negatively charged downward-moving "stepped leader" from a storm cloud. When an upward leader "connects" with a downward leader, the lightning bolt we see occurs. It is possible to catch (in a photo) one or some of the upward leaders who "didn't make it" to connect with the downward one.
