I've been out having another go at stitching images from my 35mm PC lens. I chose another familiar location, sorry about the repetition as I've done all these views on my small camera on workshops lately - I wanted to establish the compositions before the final photos today.
A small stream that flows into lake Elliðavatn, SW Iceland. I thought this looked better in b&w, the light was pretty grayish anyway :)
Taken using my new lens, Sigma 10-20mm at Novena Square. Trying and practising to get use to the wide angle lens :)
Love the ever changing lights that illumiate the waterfall that is so pretty!
"Ashura no nagare" is a famous Mountain stream of Oirase streams in Aomori Prefecture of Japan.
Ashura is treated in Buddhism as a symbol of battle. It is a mountain stream with the name of Ashura as a symbol of wildness.
A beautiful stream illuminated by fresh green light entertains people.
I pray that this beautiful natural environment will be protected and last forever.
A change to a watery shot from last August beside the midge infested waters of the Etherow. I like this shot but it does make me feel itchy again ;D
A side stream meeting the Dubh Lighe near the ruins of an old farmstead(?) below Streap and Streap Comhlaidh.
and a German Shepherd
a phone picture on my not-so-great phone (wishing I had a proper camera with me) - glad that the feel of the place manages to come through - lovely old woodland.
The wood behind Gerard McGrath's Sunflower Cottage and a bunch of his dogs.
Nouvelle Vague - A Forest
This, believe it or not, is Rivendell, the home of the elves in the Lord Of The Rings trilogy!
But although there is now no physical sign of this once thriving community, one only has to finish crossing this sturdy bridge (Relax: it's not the swing bridge!), 'hang' a left, and there in the midst of the thick forest that crowds in on either side of the well-formed track is signage that clearly describes where the Rivendell community was once built...
Then, all one has to do is occupy the conveniently placed Bench Seat above the tranquil Pakuratahi Stream, close one's eyes, and let the imagination begin to run wild...
But as you leave Rivendell through the archway, be careful you don't trip over an elf...
FOOTNOTE: Tomorrow (Saturday) we fly to Auckland for a night, and then fly on to the Cook Islands for a few days...
