Como Creek flowing through the University of Colorado's Mountain Research Station. The flow rate is more characteristic of late May that late June, thanks to the abundant snow pack and cool temperatures slowing the rate of melt. The color of the stream reflects its turbulence as well as the wetlands that it flows through, picking up lots of soluble organic matter giving it a tea-like appearance.

Some yellow leaves reflected on the surface of the water.

Another long exposure, and experimenting with different styles of processing also (please be patient! ;). It's a little dark in places, but I left it like that on purpose...for the atmosphere.

And this extract from 'The Stream's Story' by Jared Barhite just says it all:

'To wander all day, by a purling stream

That flows through some mossy dell,

And watch its silvery waters gleam,

And list to its music's swell

As it dashes down some wild cascade,

On its race to the wide, wide sea,

With sweeter strains than old Orpheus played,

Is supreme delight to me'

I took a couple of photos at this spot along the West Highland Way in 2011, with a wider angle lens, and despite some technical shortcomings really liked them. But due to being convinced it was in a slightly different area about a mile further east, I could never relocate the exact spot.

Ten years later - almost to the day - I finally found it again, completely by chance. However, I think the wider angle did it more justice so I must give it another go next time I have the opportunity.

Stream on the way to Bridal Falls east of Chilliwack BC Canada. The Fraser River Valley is truly one of the most picturesque areas of beautiful British Columbia, and for those travelling the Trans-Canada Highway through the Fraser Valley, a popular attraction near Bridal Falls is Bridal Veil Falls. The beautiful falls in Bridal Falls Provincial Park drop over 400 feet to the valley floor, flowing into Bridal Creek and under the highway to Cheam Lake Wetlands.

On our way over to Oxbow Bend (I wanted to check the area out as a potential sunrise spot) we crossed over this river ... it caught my eye, so we pulled over beyond the bridge so I could explore for a few minutes.

Made a couple LE captures at this location. This one was composed with the Tetons off there in the distance. Like the river and the rocks there along the bank.
