Taken on my day trip up into the Welsh Mountains, captured on Yashica Mat 124G with Ilford Delta 400
First photo of the year! It was a really cold and foggy day, and it gave me an idea for a shot. I grabbed my camera and ventured into the brook that runs past my house and really just wanted to capture the surrounding and mood of the day.

Taken from the Annapurna trail in the tropical jungle middle hills section of the walk. Alot of water was flowing at the time , however, much of it it was not readily accesable for this kind of shot which was a little frustrating.
The new year opens up with a baby shoot and a wedding coming up so I guess I won't have much time for landscapes *sigh*
A cold, underground spring flows out of the cave to provide the perfect habitat for rainbow trout. Hombre the dog watches over hundreds of young trout in this private, Ozarks stream. . .
I found this winter stream by following the sound of water in the forest. With winter just beginning, the ice hasn't taken over completely. The combination of the warm afternoon light, fast water, and ice, made for an interesting view.
Photo taken with the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 Pro mounted on a tripod. The final image is a photo merge of fiver seperate exposures taken over a range of plus to minus three f-stops.
With those ears, I can understand why they are called Mule Deer ... but, to me, the deer seem to be rather dutiful, deferential, diffident, docile and not a bit difficult - so I can't imagine why my wife always tells me "you're as stubborn as a mule, dear".
I took a 4 day weekend with the hopes of spending one of those days by hopping in the airplane and enjoying some time in the peaceful skies above where hardships lie. Unfortunately, the weather has been non-conducive to flying and the airfield is a sloppy mess due to melting snow. But a walk in nature is always an option, so that’s the backup plan I went with today, and might even try again tomorrow. Remember that whoever you are, wherever you stand, quiet solitude is always good for the soul.
My family and I visited this little stream again this year. I actually ended up catching a couple trout of wet flies here. I was pretty excited to catch a few this year. My family has always primarily fished dry flies, so it's been fun teaching myself to use something different.
I also stubbornly carried around my camera bag with my 645 kit in it and my manfrotto tripod the whole day fishing. Was a bit sketchy having all the weight on while wading, but these photos made it worthwhile!

For 10+ years I've been a Canon shooter but recently while I was on holiday I found I was become increasingly annoyed by the bulk of my 5DIII and 24-104L and all the eyes that it attracted when I was taking a street shot etc. I also found at times I wouldn't take my gear from the bag because of the weight and hassle so decided to give Fuji a try after finding a good deal for a used xt2 on ebay.
I took this shot about 6 weeks ago while on a hike up Slieve Donard mountain in Ireland. I took several shots handheld at 1/8 and I'm shocked at how great the results are using the "kit" lens, to my eyes theses images are extremely sharp. The xf18-55 seems much sharper in the corners than my canon 24-105L F4 and the results seem to be overall sharper across the frame. I need to do more testing to confirm that the differance isn't just because I use enhanced details in lightroom on Fuji. I'm loving mirrorless now, finding focus is so much easier with EVF and screen than the guessing game a traditional viewfinder can be at times.
I now genuinely considering selling off all my Canon gear and committing to Fuji, my only real hold up now is the post process workflow with fuji not playing all that nice with Lightroom and my ego when shooting Full Frame.

Thank goodness for a bridge feet already wet . But no bridge over the next one ( i must get some new boots )
Joanne and I just returned from a wonderful trip to Algonquin Park. Although peak colour was early this year, there was still a good amount of colour to enjoy. As we went during the week we missed the crowds that dominated the park on weekends.
We enjoyed some great hiking in the park. This photo was taken while on a hike on the Track and Tower trail which is a 7.5km hike that also includes a scenic lookout and an abandoned railway. We also did another hike on the Whisky Rapids trail which was very rewarding as well.
I discovered this spot earlier this year in spring on a not-very-popular section of Ricketts Glen State Park and got a pretty good shot.
Since then I've been wanting to go back to the same spot during fall and wasn't disappointment when I there last weekend.
