Stream with small waterfall at Grimesthorpe Castle

This image was taken one winter in Scotland when the temperatures reached a low of minus thirty degrees celsius. It was difficult to reach as it was running through a ravine but I was determined to get the

Daily Tip: Stamp your Visible layers. Instead of flatten all layers in order to edit everything on a new one, you may consider to Merge Visible Layers by holding down the Ctrl, Alt, Shift and the letter E simultaneously to create a new layer on top of the stack. Another method to do the same, but with a bunch of extra options is via menu Image > Apply Image.

This view is just a few meters downstream from Takakkaw falls. The stream has just a short run to the Yoho River, and strangely, it has no name. I would call it Takakkaw Creek, but no one would listen to me!

Often in the mountains I hike close to streams, impetuous rivers, without considering them properly because the destination is always far away or, perhaps, the “photographic purpose” seems to be always “something else”, like enchanting sunsets or sunrises, crazy peaks, mystical blue hours or mysterious nights full of stars or moonlight.

Well, it is very difficult to define what the photographic purpose actually is, so much that I have now translated it into a sort of being always ready to capture beauty virtually in everything.

I know that photographing a stream with a slightly long exposure is a cliché, nevertheless when I see the right geometries and the right touch of light I try to do not miss the opportunity :-)
