I always love finding unexpected scenes when I go out on a photography adventure. More often than not the unexpected scenes end up being my favorite photos. My wife and I spotted this on our way to a waterfall and had to pull over and do some exploring. This is definitely a place I will be returning to for fall colors.

Heavy rains caused the normally gentle streams and rivers to flood and flow with increased intensity.
The sound of rushing water echoed through the autumn woods as you hike through all the color.
Rushing water from recent rains and colors starting to show on the stream that feeds Dark Hollow Falls in Shenandoah National Park.

This was our first sighting of water along the trail during this Nature Walk with Ned Harris and his Merry Band Sabino Canyon Volunteers. ( I made up the name. (;-) )
Flowing water in the desert is always exciting. Sabino Canyon is a unique place. It allows you to see desert and riparian flora and fauna right next to each other. Amazing!!
Plus, condensing water from the fog's humid air created some unexpected and sensational sights.

More of a culvert really. I’m not sure what the trees are. Possibly Hornbeams?
I finished this top right before the quilt guild meeting, and ran outside to take a picture during sunset, so it's not the greatest picture.
I'll probably write a blog post when this is totally done explaining the process (which involved drafting and printing a very large paper-pieced pattern and a whole heck of a lot of cursing).
The idea behind it was based on the Madrona Road fabric line being about telling a story. When we tell stories, the listeners picture things in their heads based on the words, and I wanted to capture that in a quilt. The idea is that the words from the background are describing and bringing the other prints into being.

The ghostbus is back.
Having departed this world nearly three years ago with the stench of Covid-19, the original ghostbus tour of Dublin is back, scary stories, graveyards & churches in a night time 2 hour tour of the city's murky past.
There's plenty of ghosts & ghouls lurking on O'Connell Street in the hours of darkness.
Ghostbus "Lucy " is seen on the first evening of the return on 13th September 2022 on O'Connell Street, operating three times a week at 7 & 9.30 pm....if you dare.

Thanks to Cayenne Camille for making the dress from scratch!
I absolutely love working with models that work hard to achieve the vision that you have in mind. Not a lot of models are willing to try something new and crazy but Joan was all for it and trusted me with it! This is different from my usual on location shots, I have worked in a studio before but this is probably the first time I played with studio lights as the main light on the subject so it was a very nice experience.
For the mood of the photo I wanted it to have like an underwater feel to it and at the same time achieve the surrealism of the scene.
