My good friend says that clouds in the highland are there to give the light something to do,and its so true. This yarn takes a look at those turbulentt lilacs, greys and rays of bright light.

There is a mix of fibres in contrasting textures going from the silken sheen to the woollen mat:

merino,silk,mohair,alpaca,wensleydale,bfl,cotton nepps,bamboo,soya.

these single spun yarns are spun thick and thin , slubbed, sometimes smooth sometimes bobbly.

the production of this yarn is a slow process that will not be rushed.

Each skein is the result of many dyeings and cardings to achieve the unique hues and textures that make them sing.

Each skein is a painting steeped in the experience of my breathtaking surroundings: the highlands of scotland .

When working at.my carders, I work intuitively with no preconception ,there is always a sense of excitement. If it were to stop being so, I would move on to another form of expression.

Another bad storm hits. The tornado sirens were going off all over the place.

Storm duration: Approx. 20 minutes.

This giant cloud was on the other side of the sky within 15 minutes.

Shot through my screen, sorry kids. It's the only view I had!

Dark skies over a sunny beach ... 8th July 2012. You never know what weather you'll get in low season in Phuket!

After church Wednesday night, this huge storm front was approaching and the setting sun made the sky behind it glow pink.

Storm damage 14 December 2012

It's been a long time since I've attempted to shoot lightning, but this is one of my favorite shots of the lightning storms we get during the summer monsoon season in Arizona.

The cloud formation was impressive, but passed harmlessly overhead - wished I stayed and took more pictures :)

Outflow Dominant Storm across the Northwoods of WI on May 26 2018.

As we headed back into Fajardo, this storm was happening off to the port side. Just before I took this photo, when I did not have the camera, the cloud had dropped a tiny waterspout (a tornado over the sea). By the time I ran to get the camera, the waterspout had dissipated.

This is the Storm Strider, a massive warjack used by the Cygnar faction in the Warmachine miniatures game. It is armed with a pair of lightning guns and a powerful storm cannon, and is protected by thick armor. It is a imposing sight on the battlefield, and strikes fear into the hearts of its enemies.

We had a storm here yesterday that had some pretty significant wind. These clouds had some rotation in them and the National Weather Service issued some warnings. We didn't have any damage, nor have I heard of any in our area (Thank Goodness).

Storm Rolling in over Cave Springs, Ar

A massive dust storm descended on the Phoenix area, drastically reducing visibility and delaying flights as strong winds downed trees and left thousands of residents without power.

The dust cloud that moved across the Phoenix valley Tuesday night had formed in an afternoon storm in the Tucson area, and then rolled north across the desert before sweeping over the city like an enormous wave.

Radar data showed the storm's towering dust wall had reached as high as 8,000 to 10,000 feet, or nearly 2 miles.
