This was taken March 13. On March 14, this same street was lined with the cars of insurance adjusters. There was not a single car in the entire neighborhood that escaped MAJOR damage if it was in the street. Most will be totalled.

Storm clouds over the Atlantic

Shot taken in Akureyri, Iceland. I haven't color calibrated my girlfriends laptop yet so the colors might be off. The wind was VERY strong so I used ISO-1600 to minimize the exposure time. The foreground is illuminated by the moon.

We had a rather severe thunder storm roll through Salem as we were preparing to go to my son's graduation. It rained so hard that the floor inside the pavilion at the state fairgrounds was flooded. It didn't stop the ceremony, just made it a bit messy. We had lighting, thunder, and even a tornado warning - though I don't think one ever formed. Quite an evening - in many ways.

I was barbecuing hamburgers for dinner. Luckily, we have a small "barbecue" deck that is under cover.

No storm, this is Weeping Rock at Zion Natl. Park. Hand held, f/10 at 1/25s. CS6.

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune--without the words,

And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.

This is looking North from Pagham Harbour. The sun was setting just enough to give these clouds that glow.

The sky is very scary right now. This is the view from my back porch about 45 minutes ago (8:30ish). I live in north Georgia, USA.

Believe it or not, at the time this shot was taken, the sun wasn't due to set until about an hour and 15 minutes from then...It was so dark! We sure got one heck of a storm after all was said and done...

The last one of my storm cloud formation captures. I know, I get a little carried away. The cloud formations in the sky always intrigue me and I just can't help trying to capture these formations the best that I can. Of course nothing compares with seeing them with ones own eyes. :)
