How I love storms. Here, the sweeping grass patches at Indiana Dunes provide a perfect change to capture the scope of the lakeshore.
My first actual chase of 2011, not great as far as lightning bolts go but still got some decent shots.
A summer thunderstorm dumped up to 1 meter of hail across the city of Canberra in less than half an hour.
This shot was taken about 9 hours later.

I've seen plenty taxidermied. Never seen one in a lake, chilling. Damn.
The house on the left in this picture was one of the houses hit in the tornado. Look close you can see roof damage.
This picture was taken on yesterday afternoon, when the sky almost looked like the surface of a great ocean, stirred and rocked by stormy winds, and as if I were watching the waves underneath it.
Btw, the photographer didn't intend to take this picture in black-n-white mode, but as appears, it that time, those were only two colors present in nature.

We woke up to a dust storm this morning. Lovely, isn't it?
This is not like a traditional "sand storm" that you might have seen photos of ~ a wall of sand coming at you. This is a dust storm ~ just enough to irk you & make you cough ike crazy!
Think about it. What is glass made out of? Sand. Yep. Can you imagine what this is doing to our lungs? This dust storm should move out in a day or two, hopefully.
