Frame from timelapse of approaching storm at night in South Dakota. The bottom is a Wheat flield that is wind blown and blurry with 15 sec. exposures. Flashes of lightning can be seen at the base of the storm.
Funny thing about this one: The whole sky was bright, except a little spot in the far distance. So just grab your Telephoto and capture that part of the sky. And now it looks as if it was just horrible weather...

This was taken after two days of a Noreastern storm that hit the east coast. The beach sand was carved away but fortunately property damage appeared minimal from what I could see. I can't image the work needed to restore these beaches from Virginia to New Jersey. Thank you Temari for the texture
Monday afternoon a storm blew in from the atlantic. on way back from the shop my F770 was fortunately with me.
Due to recent heavy rain the small stream flowing into the inlet has caved a deep channel into the shingle and the breakers out to sea were at an estimate some 7 metres high.
Didn't manage to catch any lighting as it was behind a wall of hail so I just went for the wide shot to show the majestic size of the clouds swirling above. If I were to look over my shoulder behind me there were blue skies and sunshine!

Wouldn't like to be a cow or horse during a thunderstorm, even a close by strike can be fatal, due to the potential difference between fore and hindlegs. These bullocks look pretty relaxed though, looks like their more interested in me.
Storm Emma has stuck the UK and Greater Manchester has not escaped the icy blast.
