A day of sunshine, rain, thunder and hail!

On Good Friday 2024 the skies for the last hour of the day were amazing. These are views from my flat overlooking the peak district and manchester Airport

A little storm came through this evening...Wasn't a lot of lightning but got a couple bolts...This one was branching all over the sky..Camera didn't show it all....

A snow storm approaches over the mountains to Reine on Lofoten Islands.

 

On this beautiful morning, series of snow storms passed over the islands with amazing light in between the storms.

 

I really love a sunlit scenes like this with a dramatic backdrop with dark skies. The dark skies complimented the menacing mountains shaped by the glaciers during the ice age. I would never get tired of admiring these mountains.

Billy Joel had it right. Moments later the wind kicked up to 60 mph and pounding rain started not long after.

This was an amazing storm - I've never seen clouds like this. I will post more.

Single shot HDR. The skies had such a peculiar look last night as a thunderstorm rolled over the mountains to the west. The sun fought through and lit up this (empty) birdfeeder like a lighthouse. You really have to check this out large. Go to "all sizes"

Tornados hit Central IL today - I usually love to take pictures of clouds, but not so much today

 

As I said before we really do get some pretty impressive clouds when we get a storm. Much better than the normal dull grey sky you usually get when it rains!

I ventured outside and saw a storm front like I had never seen. Looked like the world might come to an end. Terrifying and exciting!!!
