What a pity ... did forget my 5D at home, and took the 1000D of my sister to take that ... without CPL, without a big memory card in it. Damn I got mad ... :-)
But this was a gorgeous sky like I don't remember having seen it there (and I'm born there more than 30 years ago).

Unprocessed photo taken in Kansas, U.S.A. Developing storms in the area. This photo has a yellow and triangular artifact that is/was not present on any other photos taken. As you can tell there is no sun from any angle. Any opinion on what the spot is?
Had a nice storm blow through, and couldn't resist capturing it. This is officially my last shot as a Canon shooter! Feels strange to say the least, but Nikon here I come!

There is quite a difference in winter versus the warm months in observing the eating habits of pheasants. In the summer time unless you are out very early in the mornings or happen to catch them searching for bits of gravel to serve as grit to help their digestion, pheasants often are more hidden as they seek things to eat. They normally have a menu with more entries on it than they do during the winter.
The phrase “scratching out a living” goes all the way back to the 14th-15th centuries when in the older farming communities the farmers “scratched” the land using more primitive tools.
By the 18th-19th centuries, the use of the phrase gained uses beyond that of farming to include anyone who was barely making ends meet in their day to day struggle.
Jump ahead until today and the phrase applies to a broad spectrum of normally physically hard, low paying jobs or an unstable work life.
I grew up in an era when there were only a few government help agencies and can well remember my folks talking about people around them during the Depression and beyond who spent many years on community “poor farms”.
Poor farms were quite prevalent at one time in the US and folks who were unable to work due to age, disability or other factors were housed and fed in exchange for helping to produce food and maintain a farm. Local governments ran the farms as they were considered a cost-effective way to care for the needy rather than simply doling out monies to individuals.
It carried negative connotations for participants, particularly because they were labeled “inmates.”
Poor farms gradually petered out by the middle of last century with many in Minnesota closing in the 1930s due to government programs starting up such as Social Security in 1935 and the growing prevalence of nursing homes.

Took a 4+ hour drive down to Death Valley just to get to Bad Waters. Super pumped about all the awesome shots I got!
June 10 near Stanford Montana. I was taking pictures of this scene trying to get a shot of lightning, while the storm I last posted was developing just out of frame, to the left. Seeing storms over the mountains was a special treat.
After some stormy days i visit the beach when there was still standing a strong wind. Around the dunes some beautiful creations were formed by the fierce winds.
I was too tired to go up to Checkerboard Mesa after a long day in the Narrows. So I abandoned my plans and decided to line-up with a lot of our fellow photogs on this very popular spot. The wind was whipping and there was a storm coming. This shot was taken just before we all scampered away due to the deluge.
This cloud formation was captured about 15 minutes ago. I was looking out the window when I saw this amazing phenomenon. It has been exceptionally hot lately, so this is most likely a storm approaching.

Set in the centre of Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park, the loch has served as the main fresh water supply for the city of Glasgow for over 150 years. The name Loch Katrine comes from the Gaelic cateran meaning Highland robber, the most famous of which was born on the loch’s northern shores, famous folkloric hero Rob Roy MacGregor.
We feel the storm #Ingunn even in the southern part of Norway, it is mostly heavy on the western coastline of Norway - all the way up to the northern part.
Wind gusts of 40-50 m/s was expected on the coastline of Norway, and that has happened, cars have been lifted up and roof parts are flying off.
While in the inland, local wind gusts of 30-35 m/s have been expected.
We just checked our weather system now and it showed 34 m/s! The wind is howling.
Nice to know we have been out hiking 😊 - this is taken from today, we don't risk anything when we are out (of course)!
Another image of the awesome power of Storm Eleanor. This was shot before the break in the clouds, so it's a lot darker and menacing.
Five minutes later it started to rain and I made a hasty retreat. After another fifteen minutes it was glorious sunshine.
Nice little storm to cool things off after a HOT day! I noticed there was a lot of cloud-to-ground lightning so I drove to the nearest open field to the north to try and capture it.
