We were in the middle of repositioning along an I-10 frontage road when it started to drop back there.
Whipped around for quick shots while touchdown happened behind the overpass. Random CG bolt was kind enough to photobomb things further before we hustled to a better vantage for the rest of the show.
Ft. Stockton, TX, June 2, 2023.
We watched a cell blow up at eye level from almost 3000 metres in altitude west of Buffalo, Wyoming.

Late June Storm, severe warned and moving my way...
Packed and Saddled and ready for that afternoon's events. Getting fulled up and looking due southwest. Towers were exploding and we had nice crystal clear air in front of this storm. The Severe Warning was for winds and hail. We just didn't have enough shear with this storm for it to be come tornadic.
Outflow Dominate it shall be... Oh this was going to be one to remember! Most of these captures came from south of Kearney, about 14-15 miles just north of the NTV Studios.
I had to eventually move north back into the city limits of Kearney. Sitting on the south side of the Interstate pointing the camera due southeast then to the southwest. This shelf cloud had some really amazing structure to it. Just a jaw dropping storm!

A trip with Tempest Tours over the better part of two weeks in early June.
This is one of at least three tornadoes in the Perryton, TX area on June 15. We saw two, but not the one that hit the city, as it was wrapped in rain from our position

These were not severe storms. In fact it was about 100F and humid. Normal for us here this time of year. We were right on the edge of a passing front. Day 3 of 3 for storms in south central Nebraska.
These small spurts of cells were trying to form, and one did eventually, but wasn't able to catch up or get into position to get that special shot. There were a few good captures from this day but not many.

It's just an artificial boundary, but I have a fondness for stuff that lights up in the Oklahoma Panhandle. I've only logged four chases there, including this one that, I guess didn't have a heavy enough anvil for that purple crawler flying overhead. Near Hardesty, April 23rd this year.

Had a little down time today & have had a chance to process a few pics! What an incredible #chasecation2019 ! Special thanks to @twstdbro
& @BraydonMoreSo
& @MBstormchasers
for the storms, sticking to targets, driving & the amazing company! Been a blast!
Not sure where we were exactly, because of the nature of chasing, sometimes none of us know where we where at a given time, you just chase!
It looks like this is on the Texas pan handle or Oklahoma, next to the Texas pan handle.
The sky's that day gave us a bit of a run around, so we didn't catch a tornado, but we did see some scary clouds and lightning!

This bolt came off to the side of the main storm, so I cropped the image to give it some presence.
In May/June 2024 I went storm chasing for the third time. If you'd like, you can read about my trip in the blog post on my website.
You can see all my storm chasing images from my 2017, 2018 and 2024 chases in this album.
Somewhere on the grid between Punkin Center and Eades, Colorado—May 31st. This was supposed to just be a day-1 travel day, but managed to get far enough to catch a pretty storm to kick the week off.
Graffiti covers the pool and nearby structures at Two Guns, Arizona. I'm really hoping that it does not spread to the amazing stone structures down the road.
From the last days of my storm chasing trip, near York, NE as a severe storm finally starts dying out after crossing the state from top to bottom
The second tornado on May 1st, a couple miles northwest of Briggs, Texas. It was very similar in appearance to the first and just as slow moving as the storm ingested the outflow boundary it formed on. Traffic was mostly pulled over, gaping at it, so it was easier to position middle of the highway for a few shots.
A churning light-precipitation supercell west of Wink, Texas, earlier this year—April 26th. The light was great. The landscape was, 'eh'. It emerged in great shape after a collision with a left mover as it moved southeast and dished a great time lapse.
Near Merna, Nebraska, June 7th last year. I'm pretty good at parking places where tour vans will subsequently land betwixt me and yonder storm. I should've anticipated and driven much further down that little road to start with. At the time I was just really happy to be watching that thing doing it's thing.
I captured this image from a sparky storm during the 2024/25 buildup to our Wet Season in Northern Australia.
‘Nader in the mist, roping away inside the glowing core of a storm near Oakalla, Texas, May 1st. I heard tales of a third tornado on this storm. I’m not sure if this tube is what was being counted as a distinct tornado, but I figure it was probably a recondensation of the first one after it had feathered out for a bit.
June 10 near Stanford Montana. I was taking pictures of this scene trying to get a shot of lightning, while the storm I last posted was developing just out of frame, to the left. Seeing storms over the mountains was a special treat.
A strengthening storm with mid level rotation near Tonopah, AZ, during the transition setup September 23rd last year.
Convection rears an alien specter near Chevelon Canyon, southeast of Winslow, Arizona. 8 October 2016.
This night-time lightning shot was taking in the pouring rain near the Colorado state line in Kansas, the lighting surrounded us and it was quite dangerous at times.
One I have posted before but in colour.

I’d say this tour group got their money’s worth!
I had planned to be driving back home to Arizona that day, but forecast instability, adequate shear & boundary options convinced me to hang around another day & take a chance. The Severe Weather PredictionCenter wasn’t too impressed with the setup initially until that afternoon as things started happening. May 1, 2025, Briggs, Texas.
