The radar here show reflectivity in real time

Using sepia adds more tones to this shot adding an eerily shadow world which we're entering.

It is incredibly wind and dust is getting blown into our eyes.

Mainly east of Wichita, KS this time

Original Series ( No Edits )

Another Freak Picturesque Nebraska July Thunderstorm. A True Photographic Storm Monster. Wicked good striations, and the scuds on the bottom of the outflow line looked like teeth.

Another Classic Outflow Dominate Nebraska Thunderstorm! 2011 Month of July has simply been over the top for storm photography. This was one of my best sets for the year.

Just to note...

My old Nikon D50 had some major issues.

Internal Lens was dirty.

It had been knocked over by the wind several times.

Had some permanent internal flares.

Tons of noise in the original captures. A few are little blurry due to the 45-50+ mph outflow winds. I couldn't keep the camera steady. Every pic here was worth it though!

It took long time to rework these images....

True Storm Chasing Eye Candy!

South of Tucumcari, New Mexico. This system produced a lot of dust.

We watched this storm for some time and learned that there was a tornado inside the rain-wrapped clouds. It moved left to right in front of us so that we could watch in dry conditions.

Now what kind of gift would you get someone, Shotglass, Thimble perhaps even some gold leaf?

Chasing a recent storm - chased it through Haldimand, Hamilton and Niagara.

My friends and I chased this storm from north of Ellinwood to Salina KS following it on highway 156 and 140. there was storm chasers following this storm. we saw up to 20 cars ahead of us on highway 140. You know you're on the right storm when there's tons of chasers everywhere and the DOW (doppler on wheels), from OK. 5-8-21.

Lightning splits the sky above a dark railway track, leading straight into the heart of the storm. Dramatic clouds and glowing rain create a powerful, moody scene.

I couldn't believe the beautiful orange colour.

As we headed to the tornado the colour got more intense.

Standing outside the store, was this guy and his band of merry chihuahua
