Just added the Line6 Verbzilla. Reverb! Also changed out my volume pedal.

BJEF Dyna Red Distortion

A dual 3904 transistor fuzz, fairly typical circuit that gave a decent fuzz but not as cutting as I wanted, so I added a switchable 2x1N60 diode drain for more grit (red LED for grit, green LED for "grit off"). The knobs are from an old portable TV set.

Circuit design:

Dunlop Crybaby Wah, Cliff jack.

Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive, circuit board from bottom.

MXR Blue Box, bottom cover and serial number.

Modified Phase 90, circuit board top.

Russian built Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi.

This is the bending blade, ground on a belt sander. The sharp blade "clings" to a scored or lasered line in the bending material, very high precision is actually possible.

E-H/Sovtek Small Stone, bottom of housing. No feet and battery compartment door missing (hole covered in Velcro).

4 screws on the sides removed, you can pull the bottom plate out. (In the back right of the battery is the MXR-Phaser bottom plate)

Dunlop Crybaby Wah, switch.

Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive, circuit board from top.

TS9, component side of PCB. TA75558 chip, no green goop.

Front of the Schaller fuzz 'clone'. I just stuck with the simple design from the original Schaller when I painted this one, only th words are written in german i believe on the original?? Turned out good though, and you would think it turned it AWESOME if you HEARD it! :)

Hi Ever, just thought you might be interested that E13 effects graced the stage at CBGB before it closed. The False Prophets, my old band from the '80s, got back together to do a show there Sept. 21 (opening for the Jello Biafra-less "Dead Kennedys").

I wound up playing guitar instead of bass (thereby hangs a tale I'll spare you) and used a Dark Boost (in between a Telecaster and a Fender Blues Junior).

OK, it might be the most prosaic pedal you've ever made, but I like it a lot.

Yeah, it's fine to quote me on the Web site. I'm attaching a photo-I don't know how clear it is, but the yellow and black box in my left hand should look familiar.

I've got a few projects going now. The one I do most is a live soundtrack to slide show/spoken-word performances by artists Seth Tobocman and Mac McGill. (I recorded an album with Seth last year, but it never came out; I used the Dark Boost on some tracks on that too.) I've also got a semi-dormant garage-punk band called Gateria, am learning klezmer music, and am trying to put together something where I play bass-it's my main instrument. And I may end up playing guitar in a partially resurrected False Prophets.

I've spent enough money on gear, records, and travel for the rest of this year, but I probably could be tempted by more sonic toys-i'm probably going to be in Austin in January.
