This is the bending blade, ground on a belt sander. The sharp blade "clings" to a scored or lasered line in the bending material, very high precision is actually possible.
E-H/Sovtek Small Stone, bottom of housing. No feet and battery compartment door missing (hole covered in Velcro).
Front of the Schaller fuzz 'clone'. I just stuck with the simple design from the original Schaller when I painted this one, only th words are written in german i believe on the original?? Turned out good though, and you would think it turned it AWESOME if you HEARD it! :)
Bending brake for bending stompbox enclosures. This design was based on materials I had available lying around. The channel steel is from an old fold up cot....
I hadn't actually tried the new amp with pedals until today. I was still getting used to how much I loved it all by itself.
Man, there is nothing like a Marshall Plexi (well, or facsimile thereof) as a stompbox platform.
That Skreddy Hybrid Fuzz Driver feels like it should be built into the head. It works with the existing tone extremely well.
BTW, yes I've been using the Power Scaling. Even set like this, the guitar will start to feed back as soon as I'm not muting the strings.
I've reached a point of comfort with the Zero Point flanger where I like to just leave it on. It's like a tiny little bit of modulation that makes me happy. I mean, I still step on it sometimes for a whoosh of flange-y-ness, but mostly I just leave it idling and screwing up the signal a little.
Just in time for Thanksgiving, I'm really thankful for the sound of this rig. I mean, there's not a lot to it, but it does pretty much everything I want to hear. Although I still need to find a wah that doesn't suck. I'm told those exist.
Hi Ever, just thought you might be interested that E13 effects graced the stage at CBGB before it closed. The False Prophets, my old band from the '80s, got back together to do a show there Sept. 21 (opening for the Jello Biafra-less "Dead Kennedys").
I wound up playing guitar instead of bass (thereby hangs a tale I'll spare you) and used a Dark Boost (in between a Telecaster and a Fender Blues Junior).
OK, it might be the most prosaic pedal you've ever made, but I like it a lot.

Yeah, it's fine to quote me on the Web site. I'm attaching a photo-I don't know how clear it is, but the yellow and black box in my left hand should look familiar.
I've got a few projects going now. The one I do most is a live soundtrack to slide show/spoken-word performances by artists Seth Tobocman and Mac McGill. (I recorded an album with Seth last year, but it never came out; I used the Dark Boost on some tracks on that too.) I've also got a semi-dormant garage-punk band called Gateria, am learning klezmer music, and am trying to put together something where I play bass-it's my main instrument. And I may end up playing guitar in a partially resurrected False Prophets.
I've spent enough money on gear, records, and travel for the rest of this year, but I probably could be tempted by more sonic toys-i'm probably going to be in Austin in January.
