A patch of sunshine penetrates the forest and hits me on my skirt and leg. By coincidence the lace of my skirt creates a beautiful shadow pattern on my red stocking, sweet. This reminds me though: I've walked through the forest for quite a bit already and so far I didn't check my stockings at all. The stockings tops of my hold-ups may have slid down my legs a little, and although you cannot see that in this dress I'd still better check if they're alright...
Do we all have Christmas morning memories of seeing last night's empty stockings now bulging with gifts? So exciting! Santa always put an orange in the toe of our stockings and a coin too. Our "santa" had Scottish customs, from her own childhood, that guided her during our Christmases in Canada.

An Australian Pied Oystercatcher stocking up before the "big weather event" hits. The coast of Queensland is expecting a tropical low to become a category 2 cyclone. It is moving south along the coast, at the same time we are in a "king tide" cycle, and are experiencing strong winds, high seas and heavy rain. 300-500mm expected in next 48hrs. All the planets are aligning :((
