A little wild coincidence, Jen and I had the same exact stocking when we were kids. They were made from a kit your mom or grandmom would sew for you. They are, as far as we know, no longer available, a couple of my crafty aunts(Polly and Betty) took one apart and made a pattern and then went to lots and lots of craft stores until they could find all the required components. They were then able to create identical stockings for both Avery and Carson, what a great gift! They did these for a few of my cousins kids as well, as everyone of my cousins on that side of the family had this same stocking growing up as well. However I think I am the only one whose spouse had the same stocking growing up.
victoria deserves all the credit for choosing the wonderful stitches. i'm in love with the sky & mountains - the big puffy tree was an experiment & now is gone.
My mother-in-law made these stockings for my kids the year that they were born. She also made quilts for both of them. What great treasures they'll have to pass along to their own children some day.
My miniskirt is short so it allows me to show my stocking tops. The delicate tulle petti gives it a bit extra splendour.
Just because I feel like it and am enjoying how feminine I look in this one. Just a peek of stocking top, and I don't think anyone seeing me in my usual male look would realise in this they were looking at the same person. Possible could be classed as a bit of Cougar? Maybe not, being in my sixties apparently I'm too old and of course I'm not looking for any man. younger than me or not.
our handmade christmas presents to family and a few friends this year. felted sweaters remade into stockings. i did the felting and pattern and sewing; jonny did the buttons. and, this time we made some for ourselves!
