It started crawling along the edge of the water tray and I just panned with it. It was practically dark out (and it was an hour later than the EXIF shows) The Fuji has the most intelligent control of fill flash of any digicam I've owned.

I photographed the mother a few days ago, but didn't realize she was laying eggs until I saw them in the photo later. (I knew I had a different stinkbug laying eggs yards away on the same trail.) Remarkably I managed to find the leaf today, though I hadn't made note of its location. I will be checking both clutches again in the next day or two.
