Euschistus servus is a widespread species and an important crop pest insect on soy, corn, cotton, and tobacco. Euschistus servus is one of several plant-feeding bugs that cause cat-facing on fruits.
I was amused to find so many bugs surrounding a piece of artwork that is, according to its artist's statement, about bugs. I mean, it's not that surprising. Like me, the bugs were attracted to the light.
I saw two of these, a red one and a white one, a few years ago, and didn't know what they were until someone on Flickr IDd them for me. This is the first time I've seen them again, and I wasn't able to get the shots I wanted, but I thought that this one at least shows how pretty it is.
I'm guessing these are stink bug eggs given the sheer number of stink bugs we had this year. I found these on David's Chiltepe Pepper plant.
