Dad's shorts made a perfect background. :-D Anyone know the "real" name of this critter?

I thought it was bad last year but it had only just begun. They are everywhere, inside the house as well. Counted 27 in the skylight today. Breeds 20-50 at a time. No natural predators here in America, so it's going to get worse, I fear. Damaging the apple crops . . .

Acrosternum hilare. I am indebted to van in nyc for pointing out what this little bugger actually is. I'd assumed it was some sort of aphid.

They're everywhere. One might as well appear on my photostream...

I got this pic out of a little snap and shoot with a cm wide lens. but to a bug, that lens is huge.
