A stingray gently glides along the side of the aquarium glass.
I had the privilege of visiting the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago on April 8th, 2016, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This beautiful creature cruised slowly and effortlessly in its large enclosure.
I found this print from many years ago. I should pull the negative and rescan it. I always thought it looked like an image of another planet. When in all actuality is was taken in South Carolina.
No data but if I had to guess it would have been ISO 400 Kodak consumer film, 35mm in an Olympus OM2n. 1/4 ish of a second as seen in the movement of the swimming ray.
I was taking photos of the marina at dusk when this stingray drifted past very close to shore. Couldn't resist taking a quick shot.
Grand Cayman. Spent a great day with friends on a sailboat that took us out to Deep Stingray City. We were able to swim with the rays in about 3 meters of water. This one is about one meter across and not shy about rubbing up on you.

There are several options for the helmet. The Ninjago hood works the best in my opinion but the Boxer helmet and standard helmet are more accurate.
Use a plain white head.
Falcon's wings work very well. I chose them over a cape because Stingray is more well known for his wings.
Use the Shocktrooper torso for the red/white detailing. Switch out for white arms and red hands.
The legs come from Calendar Man. They work almost perfectly. You just have to switch the hips for red because the Calendar Man hips have a "7" on them.

The Garmin Legend GPS receiver is waterproof to some extent. If you do this, you must immediately clean the contacts in the battery case and at the computer hook up with clean, salt free, water and then dry it out. Otherwise the exposed electrical potential will corrode the contacts. I'm not sure if it was age or not, but the glue holding the main seal down got very soft after being exposed to water. It did firm up again though.
The brand new C7 Stingray Convertible sits in the paddock at Sebring International Raceway. Its fitting that I see my first C7 convertible here as the first time I saw a C7 coupe was at the 12 Hours of Sebring.

Just got back from a 5 day sail to Bora Bora. Amazing place. Everywhere we dropped anchor there were stingrays and sometimes friendly reef sharks. Also Eagle Rays, Manta Rays, and turtles. Amazing place. Can't wait to go back again soon.
In many parts of the Caribbean such as Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands and Antigua, the southern stingray swims with divers and snorkellers, and are hand fed at locations such as Stingray City and the Sandbar. On Turks & Caicos, they can be hand fed at a location called Gibbs Cay. Some have become tame enough to be cradled in visitors' arms and feed with pieces of cut up fish. This docile and food-reward driven behaviour has led to many locals comparing the hand-fed and belly-rubbed stingray to an over-fed household canine. There are concerns that this feeding, and the high levels of interaction with humans, may be having some negative impacts on their behaviour and ecology.
Right when I walked out, and walked down the canal, I saw this little bugger feeding on the rocks by the boat. I have never seen a stingray in the wild, so it was a great way to start off my photographic new year.
