Blue spotted stingray on the house reef.
My first dive trip abroad since the start of COVID. Off on a liveaboard tomorrow so more photos to follow in December.

Yesterday evening’s sunset had just this thin beam of rays enlightening the evening sky, the cloud on the left reminded me somewhat of a stingray, but then again that might just be my mind playing games...

The Piranha Panic attack subs swarm their foes with grotesque violence.
The Stringrays theme is the underwater version of the UFO theme: both brutal and far better equipped than the good guys. What a great color scheme! Dark bluish gray can't compete with how great dark gray looks with red.
The fluid shapes of these beautiful creatures provide unlimited photographic possibilities. So much fun!
I've gone back and retouched some of my older models to take advantage of newer parts and colors and/or to hot rod them up. The Stingray Speedster definitely falls into the latter category with lowered body work, a reworked rear end, rerouting of the exhausts, and removal of the windshield all together because who needs those pesky things getting in the way of stuff hitting your face. Because it was hot rodded up the first time around: www.flickr.com/photos/bing-bong_brothers/6712187479/in/ph... this new version is a hot rodded hot rod, hotrod-ception. I'll definitely keep doing this and who knows, maybe it will come full circle and go back to the stock stingray it never was.
It's quite rare that I see a Lego car and want it so badly that I instantly start building. This bloody thing cost me the whole day, but with 27°C and 95% humidity I didn't want to go outdoors anyway.
I've seen other variants of this iconic car, you can say that about every car builder tries his hand on a stingray. At least since I've seen and photographed one in Tökendorf it was on my to-do list. But as lists go, paper doesn't blush.
Seeing the version of Thomas Gion yesterday I put on my thinking cap, wondering in which colour I could build it. As I've just disassembled the Camaro, the yellow mudguards were easily available, the rest was a matter of dedication.
The front alone took me about 4-5 hours. The rear looks easy enough until you start recreating that chrome bumper. I don't know what Tom smoked to come up with these solutions, but that must have been some fine stuff :o)
The only thing that I had to change because of parts availability was the rear fins of the cabin. I have no yellow 1x4 slopes, black lookes really off, so it's curved.
Hope to get this nice car on the street next week!
