From my nighttime expedition to the Turk St. hoard for long exposure images (for my fellow amateur photographers who like cars, I've discovered that the best images are nighttime ones with timed exposures--try it). Since my first trip here two weeks ago, I've learned that the owner is a gentleman called Nick who evidently works as a cab driver, and who owns at least 15 cars. One of these days I hope to meet him. I went out of my way to be conspicuous while shooting these, but no one came to the window.
As to what we have here, in the foreground is the beautiful 58 Buick Century, now parked on the street with its 'Deluxe Fashionaire' grill visible for all to see (even though this is one of my dream cars, I wouldn't want the job of having to keep all of those little squares polished), and in the background, along with appropriate period architecture, a fellow 1958 GM offering: the Oldsmobile 88.

It doesn't mention the most recent tenant was Westside Community Mental Health (there are signs for intake interview rooms). And Susie points out Occupy SF has done many things since the camp was removed

Captured in Madison - WI. This pictured captured 2 years ago and I found it while cleaning up my hard disk. I noticed the T-shirt of this guy and thought of worth sharing the words to encourage the Bicycling. The T-Shirt had message "PUT THE FUN...........BETWEEN YOUR LEGS" .

Harvard scientist issues alien statement as 'not natural' space object approaches Mars

Remember that foreign space object hurtling towards us at break-neck speed?
Well, the suspected comet, 3I/ATLAS, soared past Mars earlier this week, giving astronomers a closer glimpse. And now, Harvard scientist Avi Loeb has warned of the worrying reality if the object were, in fact, a hostile visitor from another planet.
The apparent space rock was first spotted back in July by a space telescope at RÃo Hurtado, Chile. It's thought to be an 'interstellar' space rock, having traveled from well beyond our solar system, and now through ours. Only two other interstellar objects have ever been identified; Oumuamua in 2017 and Borisov in 2019.
The European Space Agency (ESA) got a closer look at 3I/ATLAS as it passed Mars between 1 and 7 October. During its closest approach on 3 October, the comet was still 30 million kilometers away.
But ESA’s ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter managed to capture blurry footage showing a small white dot; the comet’s core surrounded by a cloud of gas and dust called a coma.

"Red Umbrella" guy - that's how I'm going to call my stranger #5. Due to his "political" statement that he wrote on the plank (left), he wanted his name to remain anonymous - although I doubt that he was scared of legality, I'm sure he just enjoys being nameless.
I must say his tactic seemed to work quite well - I spotted the red umbrella (the only umbrella in a sunny day) miles away.
"Of course you can take a picture of me, oh can you also give me some coins I need some vodka to get wasted".
Well, that was a very honest answer, at least he didn't try to pressure on my sympathy with some tragic nonsense, so yes, I gave him around 20 rubles in coins.
Job done, I tried to wrap up and get on with my journey, before he asked for some more vodka bottles. The "Red Umbrella" seemed like a nice fellow, but I still prefer to stay sober - maybe one-two shots sometimes ;)

I set up my two flash lights and I threw my back drop up on walls: the courtyard wall for a house I was living in Cartagena; the wall outside a hotel I was staying at in the seaside town of Taganga; and the front of the garage of the house I‘m staying in at the moment in Medellin, and waited till someone came along. In all of the photos I tried to use natural shade as much as possible, using my lights as fill. La vida en la calle Colombia 2014.
Liliana lived upstairs from us in Cartagena and cleared our ground floor apartment, every Monday and Friday. Her dogs were always in the yard during the day, they were fun to have around, a bit like ‘rent a dog’. They got to know us and were happy when we came home, but always went upstairs to get feed.
