Biography & Artist Statement:
My passion for photography started when I got my first digital point-and-shoot camera when I was 14; but, my fascination grew when I got my first DSLR at the age of 17.
I took Digital Arts and Design at Malayan Colleges Laguna and graduated in 2010. I then moved to San Francisco and continued my education. Since then, I have been honing skills more and more by taking photography classes, and doing some experiments involving light.
I also often make my own equipment when the tools I'm looking for aren't commercially available.
I am now seeking growth in the world of portraiture, black and white darkroom photography, and 3-Dimensional photography.
CCSF Photography and You:
I have always been fascinated by images because they spark my imagination. These images make me question what happened/is happening/will happen next, and where is it. Ever since I got my first DSLR in 2008 I've been exploring the things I could do with it: landscapes, 360-panoramas, light painting, freeze motion, and more recently, 3D.
Taking classes in the photography department meant challenging myself to do what I have not done before. It makes me think of new ways to be creative. When I take pictures in my "mini studio" in my own little room, it often involves setting up the light, tying objects with strings, and making strange contraptions just to make the image I imagined possible.
Now I am thinking of ways I could combine these things that I learned to make something new out of them. This makes the process twice as difficult and hopefully the results will also be twice as better.

This is the second pair of socks I ever knit, and my first pair of top-down heelflap socks. (My first pair was based on Wendy Johnson's old toe-up short row recipe.)
These were knit in early 2005, which I only remember because I had been thinking of giving them to Alex for Valentine's Day. That didn't happen for a number of reasons, two of which were lack of time, and lack of experience with sock sizing.
As it turns out, these would be plenty big for him in circumference, but as a sock newbie I didn't realize how much one can be fooled by apparent circumference when a sock has just been started. Alex now has two pairs of Retro Ribs. These were knit on 2.75 mm needles, as were the first pair for him. Both pairs are big on us.
I'm amazed that the Dale Baby Ull is still in one piece. Astounded, in fact. They're obviously fuzzy and pilly (though much less than I'd predict, knowing what I do now), and too big on me. But they are comfy cozy socks, and I love to wear them around the house.
And the fashion statement? Yeah, when I put the socks on this morning it was chilly in here. Now there are sunbeams.

Gathering together art historians, artists, and curators, this daylong symposium discussed how the proclamation of the "end" of the art object, a statement that was made in a startling number of locations around the world ca. 1970, demonstrated the end of both aesthetic and political modernity, and the advent of a decentered globalism characterized more by crisis than by revolution. Speakers included Stefano Chiodi, Romy Golan, Nicolas Guagnini, Amelia G. Jones, Branden Joseph, Lee Ufan, and Mika Yoshitake. The symposium was followed by a reception.

Statement
The interpreted functional vessel brings art experience into one’s daily life. Line, color, gesture, and the lure of materiality articulate the value of indulgence, and the transience of (plant) life. The alchemy that transforms common terra cotta clay into an object that speaks in a domestic setting points the way toward parallel transformation possible in the observed moments of personal life.

Arbuckle has taught workshops at many venues across the U.S. and in several international locations. University of Florida has recognized her research with Graduate Research Professorship and Teaching Improvement awards. Recent activities include a one-month residency in the People Republic of China awarded by the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts, and a chapter-length feature in The Penland Book of Ceramics: Master Classes in Ceramic Techniques.
Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell signs a Statement of Support for the National Guard and Reserve Jan. 18 in Richmond flanked by Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, and Roger Trout of the Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve. The Statement of Support confirms that Governor McDonnell joins other employers "in pledging to fully recognize, honor and enforce the Uniformed Services Employment and Re-Employment Rights Act, ensure that managers and supervisors will have the tools they need to effectively manage those employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve and that Virginia will continually recognize and support our country’s service members and their families in peace, in crises and in war". Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve is a Department of Defense agency established in 1972. The mission of ESGR is to gain and maintain employer support for Guard and Reserve service by advocating relevant initiatives, recognizing outstanding support, increasing awareness of applicable laws, and resolving conflict between employers and service members.
