An hour's exposure in the darkness of Cedar Creek. I am not sure what the orange-coloured horizontal band is, but there is basically no light around here.

Been sitting up on an old fortress` wall for 5 hours to capture the sunset and stars. It was impossible to leave for a second, because there were lots of people, who would have taken my premium place immediately. OMG, good to have a strong bladder :-)

A star trail from last Friday evening. There were some storms out to sea and I went to get some photos of them, but by the time i arrived they were only visible on the horizon. So instead i changed my plans and started taking some startrails instead.

Canon EOS60D, f/5, ISO800, 15mm for 30s exposure, 115 shots combined in Starstax, noise reduced using Noise Ninja.

During my last trip to California I decided I wanted to shoot a startrail in the ghost town of Rhyolite. It's a fascinating place in the night. Odd noises and even the slightest breeze is errierly loud.

I arrived at the site quite awhile after sundown so framing my shot and selecting focus was quite a chore. Once the camera was working I laid back in my car for two hours just enjoying a break from the days blazing temperatures. Sometime after the second hour I decided to check the camera to make sure it was still clicking away. I almost decided to pack it in but figured I'd give it another half hour of shots and went back to the comfort of the car seat. What was supposed to be a half hour turned into all nigth when I fell fast asleep. I was finally awoken by the light of dawn. I wish I would have known I was going to fall asleep. I would have saved the money on the hotel room for the night. But I guess I can say I slept the night in a ghost town!

Hope you all enjoy!
