Rückenstart bei den FINA Masters Weltmeisterschaften 2012 in Riccione (Italien)

This was a morning in the trip where we just took it easy. I wanted to do some resort shooting and just general lounging about, so we headed first to Saratoga Springs Resort. I will first say, there counter service option is great for breakfast. Even though this resort is absolutely massive, there is something quite quaint about it as well. I will have to say that out of the resorts we visited that day, this was one of my favorites. :) Please let me know what you all think as any suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Enjoy!

The museum was established by two brothers as a memorial and tribute to Bomber Command crews and their eldest brother who lost his life on a bombing raid during WWII.

It's worth noting that less than 1 in 4 crews completed their first tour of 30 missions. The aircraft themselves would only achieve, on average about 40 hours flying before being destroyed by operational accidents or enemy action. In 1945 it took approximately 20,000 man hours to manufacture!!

As we start to approach the end of the peak S17 schedule, airline are now preparing for the imminent W17 schedule due to commence on 28th October 2017. United Airlines which have already provided a small selection of S18 updates, the airline have also published its full W17 changes as reported by Airline Route.

Firstly, United Airlines is once again changing its aircraft allocation at its bases (I know, I'm losing count!), one of the most notable during the upcoming W17 schedule changes is from its massive Newark-Liberty hub.

So far in terms of wide-body jets, Boeing 767-300ER/400ER's are a major aircraft of choice at Newark, providing the majority of transatlantic flights to Europe. At present, Boeing 767-300ER's provides the large portion of transatlantic flights, with Boeing 767-400ER's shuffling between Newark-Liberty and Washington-Dulles.

The W17 schedule sees Boeing 767-400ER's replacing a number of Boeing 767-300ER operated flights at Newark-Liberty and vice-versa with Boeing 767-300ER's taking their place at Washington-Dulles.

London Heathrow will see Boeing 767-400ER's return from the start of the W17 schedule, replacing select number of Boeing 767-300ER's (although, not on all flights). During the low season, Boeing 757-200's will also fill the gaps when capacity is reduced... Expect capacity to ramp up before Christmas and New Year.

The second biggest change to United's London Heathrow to Newark-Liberty flights is as mentioned before, the introduction of a new summer seasonal flight between London Heathrow and Denver, Colorado. The S18 schedule will see the 6 daily flights reduce down to 5 daily flights beginning from 24th March 2018 with UA76/77 withdrawn. At present, Boeing 767-300ER's will operate all 5 daily flights from the start date, however expect that to change following recent W17 developments.

Away from the schedule changes, United is in the process of refurbishing their draconian 3-class configured Boeing 767-300ER's. 14 domestic-configured Boeing 767-300ER's have already been retrofitted with new international interiors since 2012/2013, but don't feature United's Polaris Business Class seats. United have already refurbished 8 of the 21 pre-existing international configured Boeing 767-300ER's but they too don't feature the new Polaris product.

At the time of writing, 2 Boeing 767-300ER's fitted with the pre-merger United 3-class interiors are currently at Hong Kong being fitted with not only refurbished interiors (as well as First Class interiors removed), but will receive United's Polaris Business Class seats. The first should be heading back to the United States at some point by the end of August, or beginning of September; with the second likely to be completed by the end of September.

Currently, United Airlines operates 51 Boeing 767's, which include 35 Boeing 767-300ER's and 16 Boeing 767-400ER's.

November Six Six Two Uniform Alpha is one of 35 Boeing 767-300ER's in service with United Airlines, delivered new to the carrier in August 1993 and she is powered by 2 Pratt & Whitney PW4060 engines. She is one of 21 Boeing 767-300ER's previously fitted in 3-class configuration, having been extensively refurbished and fitted with blended winglets since March 2016.

I know we all have the things we struggle with. But mine drives me frigging batty.

I have a hard time starting. You have no idea how long I can stare at a blank screen. Or say, I'll just check Flickr really quick (infamous self lie).

I have GOT to get this done.

150249 bursts into life in the gloom at Par, ahead of working ECS to Par Chapel Siding to clear the road for 6V74 to pass through on its way to St Blazey.

When I've spent the whole day on the road, far from home, I'm often drawn to some weary familiarity on the way. Hartville Bridge has been a familiar haunt in recent years, a span that's stood since the 1850s, when this stretch of railroad was completed. It last saw a train in 2011, when the Hantsport gypsum plant was mothballed. Just a couple turns off the highway and a short walk to get here, staring down to St. Croix River far below. It's a good place to feel the rush of crowds and city traffic wash out of sight. I was returning from a day and night in Halifax, giving a couple talks to an unexpected audience. Late last year, I got a message from Seth Sanders, the professor of religious studies up at Dalhousie University. He told me that "The Dead Die Twice", my book of abandoned cemeteries, was required reading for the winter semester of his "Death and the Afterlife" class – and he wanted me to appear in person.

So there I was, talking to a room full of younger faces, when I'm usually looking out at folks far older than me. Something so deeply fascinating to the experience – bringing death to life for folks just starting living. Seth seems to be a fine teacher, and a heartwaking kind of human. When I was young, I was a terminally distracted student, could never hack the focus required. But all these years of work and wandering have somehow shaped me into someone with something to share. I chased nightfall into Windsor at the Spitfire Arms, a regular stop. When I went to leave, a lovely man who recognized me had already paid for my meal. These human connections bring an introverted heart to life in such a particular sense. Makes the joys in isolation so evenly balanced. A genuine love of aloneness finds us all so much better at being together.

Back from a family trip to Michigan to attend a wedding, see family and friends, and tour a little around Michigan. It had been far too long since I had been back to my homestate and we were there far too short. I will fix that moving forward.

This is the start of a new serie from the exhibition "LEGO Zeitreise"

History reconstructed from many thousands and thousands of Lego bricks. Archaeological and mythological highlights such as the Tower of Babel or the Great Pyramid can be seen alongside a camp of Neanderthals.

The models were constructed from a total of 1.5 million stones in the studio of "Lego Certified Professionals" in the Brandenburg town Niemegk. The twelve landscapes were created in five months of work. The Lego bricks used are not special - the commercial tiles from the game's shop were used here.

yep. that's me. starting over again! i finished my baby blanket and when i cast off it ended up looking more like a shaull than a baby blanket! lol i somehow ended up with about 3 times as many stitches on the kneedle!! don't ask me how i managed that. lol

How we realize on our bike ride today that the GPS had taken us down a dead end gravel road.

In 1966 DAF started a study of a compact and affordable travel car. The project name was P300. In the summer of 1968 Michelotti presented the first wooden, life-size models. Its 5 cm longer wheelbase made the new model look longer than the DAF 33. Michelotti had envisaged a hatch at the rear, which was rejected by DAF for financial reasons. Instead they opted for a classic boot lid, be it in a wider version.

The reactions were promising and DAF decided to continue with this model and to build two running prototypes with the 850 cc engine of the 44. In 1970 the car was ready for the first trial runs. During th trials it appeared that the new car performed slightly better than the DAF 44.

Another problem was the cost of the newly designed interior of the car, which was far too high. Towards the end of 1970 the DAF board decided to terminate Project P300. The list prices would be too high to compete with other manufacturers. The focus was now on Project P900, which was to become a Volvo instead of a DAF.

After putting on clean socks, I started out on my walk through the forest. After about 2 minutes, here's what one looked like.

PENTAX67 smc P67 90mm F2.8 RVPF

The start of a busy weekend - that may yet get disrupted by the weather began with a check up at the doctors. More tests for gastrointestinal wobbles early next week. After leaving the doctor’s I caught a couple of trains from Stoke to Stockport, then Stockport to Sheffield. I took my Sony A7R Mk2 and Fuji XT1 and traded them in against a secondhand Sony A9 - got one in immaculate condition for just under a third of the price of a new one, after trade-in from Harrison Cameras in Sheffield. I then checked in to my hotel and had a wander around the city centre. The other reason I’m here is for a charity concert at the City Hall by Sheffield legends the Everly Pregnant Brothers - with guest DJ spots from Jarvis Cocker and Nick Banks of Pulp - and also Richard Hawley. Snow has been given out overnight so I’m hoping that the trains are running reasonably well, as I’m going to The Photography Show in Birmingham tomorrow....
