Today started with snowing, but it soon stopped. It's been very windy all day so I stayed in and decided to make some cookies. Top left crunchy peanut, top right oats with coconut and bottom cookies with raisins.

When the sun looks like the moon. Foggy November morning at Brazos Bend State Park in SE Texas - 11/2022.
Taken about 40 minutes before sunrise, this was the 1st shot of the morning. I really like this location, the bridge is vast when standing so close underneath it and I will definitely be visiting this location again.
Many thanks for the fantastic feedback on yesterdays image :)

Start Point is a promontory in the South Hams district in Devon, England, grid reference SX832370. Close to the most southerly point in the county, it marks the southern limit of Start Bay, which extends northwards to the estuary of the River Dart.
The rocks of the point are greenschist and mica-schist, formed by metamorphism of Devonian sediments during a period of mountain building towards the end of the Carboniferous period.
The name "Start" derives from an Anglo-Saxon word steort, meaning a tail. This root also appears in the names of birds with distinctive tails, like the redstart.
As a result of the many shipwrecks in the area, Start Point lighthouse was built in 1836 to alert ships to the danger of the point and its surrounding rocks. The lighthouse, and the area's birdlife, make it a popular spot for visitors, and Start Point is accessible to walkers from the South West Coast Path.
The Start Point transmitting station is located on top of the promontory, just north-west of the lighthouse. Built in 1939, it nowadays transmits only a single broadcast, BBC Radio 5 Live.
Lamacraft Farm is near Start Point and a quarter of a mile from South Hallsands.
Eurasian forces had started to invade most of Egypt’s most critical cities, with help of the UAPR, in hopes of wining control of the Suez Canal. In the outskirts of these types of slums, fights and riots happened often, leaving the area almost deserted, allowing Eurasian troops to quietly sneak into the inner districts, in small groups, undetected. After a week or so, the remaining ragtag local militia with the support of NATO and its allies, caught on to Eurasia’s
Now, it was harder to bring forces inside the city, so local Eurasian leader had to make the decision to make the small groups who entered the city, smaller, and more infrequent. While this was annoying, it was only a small inconvenience to Eurasia’s huge war machine. Already, Eurasian forces in the city had started even more riots and day by day, more of Cairo’s population either joined or actively supported the UAPR and the communists. Due to this, NATO and it’s allies were forced to hire and cooperate with the highly trained soldiers of the AKU partnership. While these soldiers had their own motives, it was better for business if NATO kept its control of the Suez Canal. It’s now a common sight to see AKU soldiers and operatives roaming the streets and slums of major Egyptian cities, trying to control the situation at hand.
SLUMS OUTSIDE OF CAIRO; 2:30 pm
A “patrol” of two Eurasian soldiers creep into the city, through the slums, their boots leaving light footprints in the sandy dirt. Little did they know, they would never make it to the meeting point. As they crept by dirty tan and gray houses, yellowed by the desert sun, their communications started buzzing. Over the radio, one of the Eurasian commanding officers in Cairo warns the soldiers that AKU soldiers have been spotted near their location. Nervously, one of them says “roger that, we will be on high alert.” High above them, slowly walking along a rusty catwalk, was a pair of men wearing olive green coats…
SLUMS OUTSIDE CAIRO; 2:36 pm
A gunshot rings out, one the Eurasian soldiers who was leading the small group fall to the floor dead, a bullet piercing his chest. Above him, one of the AKU soldiers lowers his gun and inspects the dead Eurasian, down below.
The remaining Eurasian soldier screams, as his comrade is shot. Raising his AK-12, he attempts to shoot one of the AKU soldiers, but misses in his nervousness. Seconds later, a bullet blasts into his head, and he’s feels no more.
EPILOGUE:
As the AKU soldiers climb down from the rusty catwalk, they walk to the dead Eurasians, making sure their work is done. It is. As they walk back to the temporary AKU base of operations (Cairo), one of them mentions how he cannot wait to grill something when he gets back……
Hope you guys enjoy the build and story! Let me know how I did in the comments!

At the start of the First World War in 1914 the British Government needed effective communications with frontline troops and replaced messengers on horses with despatch riders on motorcycles. Several models were tested for suitability, and the Triumph Model H was selected. With the rear wheel driven by a belt, the Model H was fitted with a 499 cc air-cooled four-stroke single-cylinder engine. It was also the first Triumph not to be fitted with pedals, so was a true motorcycle.
Engine differences from the previous Model A included a single cam wheel with two cams replacing separate cam wheels for the inlet and exhaust valve, and new design of cylinder casting. Valve head diameter was enlarged, and the valves were spaced further apart. The Model H was fitted with a Sturmey-Archer three-speed countershaft gearbox operated by a hand gear change lever.
More than 30,000 Triumph Model H motorcycles had been produced by the end of the war in 1918. The Triumph Engineering Co Ltd had been using the advertising slogan Trusty Triumph since 1910 and the Model H became known as 'The Trusty' as it proved reliable in wartime conditions, despite a weakness in the front fork spring. This was prone to break on rough ground, so despatch riders would strap a leather belt around it as a precaution.
This 1915 Triumph Model H and beautiful wicker sidecar is one of more than 1,000 British machines on display in the National Motorcycle Museum.
The holiday season from Thanksgiving through the New Year is a dangerous time for many of us. Good intentions of eating in moderation seem to get way-laid by thoughts of “well, maybe just one more won’t hurt”.
The most popular starting date for diets is “tomorrow.”
This eagle was quite a ways from me when I took this photo. As I was squinting through the viewfinder, I thought something looked a little off as at first glance he appeared to be the most squat and overweight eagle I had come across.
But when I got the photo up on my monitor at home, I realized his body was facing away from me and his head was completely turned around as he kept me in view. Quite an amazing physical ability that I have only seen replicated by my mother when I was a young lad.
Eagles have 14 neck vertebrae which is twice as many as humans and enables them to rotate their head up to about 180 degrees in each direction. Added note, eagles eyes are fixed in their sockets and do not move like ours.

There's snow on the mountain!

Skiers are muttering incoherent things and starting to drool a little.
Herring fishing on the Salish Sea. I started shooting at the top of the stairs, and descended down 110 stairs to the beach! Needless to say, my legs could feel it coming back up! Lots of noise with the barking of sea lions, Eagles, seashore birds, the noise of the activity everywhere. Lots of people watching on a beautiful sunny day.

So, this is a first at using a macro lens! In all honesty, I found this very difficult to get the hang of.. I struggle with balancing an appropriate DOF, and making sure that I don't compromise for a slow shutter-speed; all without a tripod! Any help and pointers would be very welcome!
Also, I wouldn't mind some help with recommendations for potential macro lenses for us, Nikon DX-users...
