Did I mention how much I miss my old garden? We moved during the winter, and I had to start all over again... the yard has so much potential, but I missed my other garden plants like old friends that I'd grown to enjoy. They were so familiar to me! Subtle and great changes occured over the 10 years as we grew "together". It was fun to see it develop. So I missed it when spring came and the familiar blooms weren't there to greet me!

Here, in this image, you can see there is a new start, however humble! Our yard is very large, and this is the one flower bed I put in this year (so many other chores and tasks needed to be completed first.)

My new garden! I used the rototiller for at least 8 hours one afternoon and evenng just to dig up this area. Then I prepared the soil with peat moss and manure. Some of these plants came from my other garden,so they are quite special, even if they are ordinary. Since the time these pics were taken, my husband has built a very nice wall around it and the plants have filled in more. More pics to come!

A Photo and Hiking Meetup hosted by Ray Schiel

We did quite a few of these meetups. This one was at the Griffith Observatory. Once a month astronomers would set up their telescopes on the observatory's lawn and let us all look.

It is a cool event. If you haven't been, by all means, check it out.
