"Follow your own star!"
Dante Alighieri
The star is a garden light in a plant on the front porch. It was also seen as shadow in another capture for ODC3. See below.
If you have the time, try viewing in the lightbox.
Star Bokeh Brush by CryztalRain, BokehLightz
Just a typical Saturday night - hangovers, horrible weather outside and an astronaut exploring my kitchen table.
Thought I'd share some happy Christmas-light bokeh from a drive-through light show on James Island our staff went to last weekend. I'm kind of bummed about the van being in the shot, but I couldn't bear to cut out any of the beautiful stars with any amount of creative cropping.
Made these little guys with help from Grandma's unused button collection and some spare time on my hands!
The star bokeh effect in the background was done by taping black card with a 2cm star cut in it, to the front of my f1.8 lens.
Yeah, that whole manual lense thing? I was shooting people in front of the flag and realized that the star bokeh was really cool! So I took this so I could have star bokeh for.... reasons.
Yay! My sister rocks, and she's always a bit like a rock star. :) The star Bokeh I made in camera actually, because another photographer friend (Dann!) showed me how. :D
Shape bokeh is so neat!
I decided it was time to have a play with bokeh - the buggers are deceptively tough to capture when you actually want to, despite appearing in all sorts of photos when I'm not looking for them. As today is Israeli Independence Day today (60th anniversary of the state of Israel) it seemed appropriate to try a star of david bokeh, and for the flower to be royal blue and forget-me-nots (or some weed approximation of forget-me-nots - I'm not good on flowers)
grass seed heads coverd in early morning dew take on a whole new look when approached with the lens baby plastic optic, 10x macro and star aperture
this is stupid. Its an unfocused photo with a bad effect over it. whateveeerrr.
:)
Also...I'll be posting another photo later so that I'm all caught up!
Shot one evening with a 5DMkII and 70-200/2.8L IS for the Canon Photo5 competition.
The Story Bridge in the background is pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Day 359 / 365 - 25/12/10
The Stockings Were Hung
I gifted myself one of the bokeh masters kits for Christmas. Very fun once I got the hang of it. That took a little while though!
Well of the Pier maybe ?
One of several shots taken with Jenn acting as model while I tried to work out the best way to use the Photo5 star bokeh aperture thingy.
Esta quincena buscamos el verde.

Its nice to be home, unstressed with school work. Its nice to catch up and hang out with old friends.
Life is good :)
ps: the bokeh is from a miniature christmas tree @ starbucks.
I did this one for my daughter Belanah's friend Haylie. She loves to edit photos and for a 12 yr old, she's pretty good. I think she looks pretty cute here.
Wild Flag played the Grey Eagle in Asheville, North Carolina on March 23, 2011. I was shooting with a Lensbaby Control Freak and a star bokeh filter.
