The only vaguely pirate reference I could find, by Adam and the Ants, I thought this latest creation looked a bit like walking the plank. I tried balances with other planks, but the stones were so heavy they snapped. It was also blowing a gale, so not great for balancing round stones.

The large tree, deep-rooted stands ready for winter surrounded by its descendants, at once reaching down and up into the crisp air.

If the sky that we look upon

Should tumble and fall

Or the mountains should crumble to the sea

I won't be afraid

Just as long as you stand by me

When the night has come

And the land is dark

And the moon is the only light we'll see

No I won't be afraid, oh I won't be afraid

Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So darling, darling stand by me, oh stand by me

Oh stand, stand by me, stand by me

If the sky that we look upon

Should tumble and fall

or the mountains should crumble to the sea

I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear

Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darling, darling, stand by me, oh stand by me

oh stand now, stand by me, stand by me

And darling, darling, stand by me, oh stand by me

oh Stand now, stand by me, stand by me

Whenever you're in trouble won't you stand by me,

oh stand by me, oh stand, oh stand by me.

This is not 'selective colour' although it does look it.

Bearded tits at Cley Marshes

This tower might look like a chimney because of the cloud placement but it's actually a war memorial.

Crich Stand is a memorial tower, originally erected in 1923 to the memory of the 11,409 members of the Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire) Regiment who died in the First World War. Further dedications extend this to members of the regiment who perished during the Second World War and up until 1970, and to those who died serving in the successor regiments; the Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment from 1970 to 2007 and the Mercian Regiment since 2007.

The memorial stands on a carboniferous limestone outcrop that has been partly quarried away on its western flank, creating a cliff that overlooks the village of Crich in the English county of Derbyshire. It is 286 metres (938 ft) above sea level, is 19 m (64 ft) high and has 59 steps to the top. From the top there are extensive views, and on a clear day Lincoln Cathedral, some 40 miles (64 km) away, can be seen.

There’s a good chance that being in a crowd or crowded area can be exhilarating to many people and it may assist many to get energized. Excitement in the air can get the blood flowing and grab so many people’s attention to go with the flow. Although many of us may prefer a slower pace with elbow room, maybe some slow music and phones quieted. For instance my creative juices do not require action close by or direct contact with someone. To “Stand Alone” gives me uninterrupted space physically and mentally. Time to allow or invite a peaceful atmosphere into my space and things begin to happen. Thanks for viewing my photos. Gratitude and Kindness act like a silent partner that I truly cherish.

not exactly a "moc", but something I put together that will be helpful for photography and display.

Using bootleg transparent elements makes it stronger, as there's more friction.

Whilst out walking around Hoober Stand today I couldn't help but admire the powder blue Mediterranean skies & the total absence of vapour trails from aircraft.A rare sight.

In the battle between the heat from the sun and the frost mist, this tree stood out, silhouetted by the sunrays finding its way through the mist.

This great old Bureau County barn is holding up pretty well considering the farm around has been pretty well gone for a long time...

The trees stand like sentinels, silent, skeletal, and unmoved. Beyond them, the mountains rise in shadow, cloaked in mist and memory. The sky is thick with cloud, but it’s not the weather that weighs heavy, it’s the presence. Light barely filters through, casting no warmth, only warning. This is not a trail. It’s a threshold. The kind of place where names are forgotten and footsteps echo longer than they should. The forest doesn’t speak. It listens. And the ridge, distant and dark, watches without blinking.

My latest photography is now available for purchase at crsimages.pixels.com/, featuring prints, framed art, and more from my curated collections.

An upright, decades old tree testifies to successfully surviving years of storms, dryness or too much rain. When our two children were young we challenged them to learn how to stand alone, apart from the pressures of their peers. Little did we know that like all of us, their greatest battles were yet in the distant years to come and then they would have to pass this lesson on to their children.
