Astounding weather! Storms last night sun, clouds and winds today, but temperatures in the 70's. Remarkably there is color still in the trees enhanced by the drama in the skies. This is Muddy Pond and water levels are pretty low because we haven't received the rains we usually get this time of year contributing to the stamina of fall color. No complaints from me. I could easily take two more months of weather just like today.
The lionesses do about 80% of the hunting. The pride (including the male lions) will form a hunting group to bring down large game like the Cape Buffalo. As you will see in the next two images, females take responsibility for training the younger male and female members of the pride.
Stealth, stamina, power, patience, speed, sound, smell and sight; these are all techniques used by predators when hunting. But it doesn't always work.
Lions are the most opportunistic hunters, killing whatever crosses their path or walks into them while they are sleeping. In many areas of Africa lions have adapted to hunting a particular prey species. In these areas the success rate is higher than areas where they hunt a range of prey species. This is due to the fact that they get better with practice at one species.
Lions are the most powerful predator and they live in prides, making it easier to kill larger prey. Despite this Lions are of the least successful predators and in many areas they scavenge more than they kill.
In studies across Africa Lions rank low on the success scale and in some areas they are at less than twenty percent success rate. They are powerful enough to steal the kills of all other predators and will take carrion that is days old.

I tried and tried to get a good macro shot of these beautiful lillys and I believe this is the best from the group I did. Still a long way to go, but I'm getting there. No additional lenses either. Just the macro on the camera. Straight from the camera plus a drop frame and name. That's it! No additional touchups or sharpening!
The Olympus does have a good macro setting! I really hope you all aren't tired of my flowers because it is just starting to be spring and I love me some flowers! I'll try to throw something different out tomorrow so I don't bore you all too much. Have a great start to the week my friends.

Zebra Power.
Zebra are generally slower than horses, but their great stamina helps them outpace predators. When chased by a predator a zebra will zig-zag from side to side, will rear up and kick or bite its attacker.

Troye’s story is propelled forward from before his birth. A man from the outside world had been washed up on a secluded cove on the Amazon Island alone and weak he was discovered by one of the Amazons. Her name was Euryleia a wanderer who would often leave the kingdom to explore the island, usually gone for weeks at a time. She was a kind woman, sworn off from violence preferring the comfort of peace in nature and knowledge in writing. Seeing the man so weak and helpless made herself sympathise with him, knowing of the bloodshed the Amazonians had faced years ago she tended to his wounds in hopes of reviving him. But she took him from the shore away from those who may find him as if they did she know he would not be allowed to live. Once he gained consciousness in the days that followed she talked with him sharing their stories as he recovered to pass time. She discovered his name was Reagan Drakos a fisherman who’d got caught in a cyclone downing his boat and getting him washed out to sea, he had no relatives and lived a solitary life through their discussions. Through time the two grew close and in secret their love bloomed.
Several months had passed and a child was born, being one of the first in a long time in Amazon history. But Euryleia was blessed with a boy; Born a male into a society of woman the newborn dubbed Troye by his father would have been considered an abomination to the inhabitants of Themyscira if his existence was discovered along with his father. With an Amazon mother and a human father he was kept in secret within one of the few places Hippolyta does not know of in the depths of the jungles. He grew with his father away from outside contact; only with that of his mother would go to see him often teaching him new things with each visit. He soon learnt to read and write with his father’s help and hunt and fight with his mother. Though the outside world was a mystery to him and he knew not of what was beyond the boundaries his parents had created for him. But as he was young and rather reckless one night when he was 9 and when his mother was away to keep up appearances in the kingdom and his father was asleep, he crept away and through the boundaries they had created. Sneaking through the jungles of the island he soon found a flickering source of light he’d identify as fire, something he didn’t see often as Mother had said that it would attract people he would not like to meet. In curiosity Troye followed the light source until he came across a magnificent sight. Huge stone structures like those he’d seen in the books his Mother had given him and rivers and waterfalls snaking in between them and above all from his hiding spot just at the edge of the open area were people. Woman all dressed in armour and robes walking and talking in the night. He’d never seen so many people. And from his spot he saw his Mother talking with somebody down below. Not knowing the consequences of his actions Troye stood up from his place and walked straight out and into plain sight from all around. Suddenly the slight silence from before just stopped, being replaced with that of a different kind, a more sinister kind that just hung in the air.
“Man!”
The word was shouted loud and clear breaking the silence. He saw his Mother’s head whip round a face of horror placed upon her head. ‘Run’ she mouthed. Troye darted round an arrow embedding itself in the ground of where he stood. He ran back to his father, again with thinking with the Amazon warriors close behind, he was a man in place where it was forbidden to be so and was leading them to his father, someone who would surely be gutted when seen.
“Father!” Troye cried as he entered their clearing running towards the small hut he lived in with his Father. The wind was knocked from his body before he could reach it, someone had caught up to him and had tackled him to the ground.
“You do not belong here, male!” The Amazon warrior spat. She had a knife in her hand and it was soon raised above his throat. She began to bring down the knife but was kicked away by someone else. His Mother, she was here to save him! But soon other Amazons quickly arrived outnumbering his Mother and surrounding the area. His Father was outside now too clutching his own knife, snarling at the warrior woman. Troye at this point was digging around in the leaves, he had his own dagger he’d kept on the forest floor, and he hoped he’d help his parents fend of the others. But before anything could happen she arrived. Hippolyta, Troye only learnt who she was later but at this moment things happened very fast. With silent commands from her the Amazons lowered their weapons.
“Euryleia” She spoke his Mother’s name and silence followed, staring right at her with eyes like knives. That look said everything.
“And my sisters! You should no better, the boy is merely a child, he knows not of who he is or who we are, we are not to kill him as he has done us no wrong. But his Father can die.” She ordered and suddenly a sword pierced his Fathers chest, in unison his Mother and him cried no. She fell to her knees as he fell to the ground.
“How could you!” She shrieked at Hippolyta.
“How could you!”
“Silence Euryleia! You have broken are most sacred rules and beliefs, you are not our sister, and your son does not belong here either” Hippolyta interrupted Troye’s Mother. Troye doesn’t recall what followed but key parts are vivid in his memory, his Mother being carried off, the looks he got from the warriors and the talk Hippolyta gave him, explaining everything, but only increasing his knowledge that the reasons for what happened made no sense. His memory than fades.
He was brought to Hephaestus’ realm and made to work in his forges as one of his slaves. Though he was kept alone from the others, a punishment Hippolyta had probably devised, he’d been kept from others his entire life, and this was no difference. He was alone, but even more than ever before.
He thought he would’ve been kept there for the rest of his days that may have been considerably short with how he had been treated, until someone appeared to free them, He’d been there 6 years and he was about to be free. The other slaves called her Wonder Woman as he joined them in the sunlight that blinded him after being kept in the darkness for so long. She led them away, leading the charge against Hephaestus’ creations and guards, joined by Troye and the other slaves in their fight for freedom.
After the smoke had cleared and all had calmed, Troye approached the warrior with caution. She was polishing a sword at the time preparing to leave for man’s world. Troye told her of his father and how he had never seen man’s world, a world he was part of. She smiled upon him and they talked and learnt of each other. And Diana agreed to take Troye to man’s world to find his own way in the world outside. But he kept his Amazon heritage from her, not trusting her completely despite what he thought of her as someone he could trust. He came to man's world to learn of his father and to find his way in life. What he would do, what he should do and what he could do were questions that plague him not knowing what path he should follow.
Following after Wonder Woman he stopped injustice in his own way, but kept his focus on the discovery of the foreign world, again still not sure what he's doing in his search, but because of his acts he was given the nickname from the public ‘Wonder Boy’, because of his choice of armed defence and height, a name he’s not to fond of.

As Edsel Ford got more involved with Lincoln, though the company continued to use Leland designs and engines into the 1930s, he wanted to give the company his own stamp, so he commissioned Gorham silversmiths to design Lincoln a greyhound hood ornament. Production ornaments were made using the lost wax method, just as Rolls-Royce did with their mascots, cast in brass and then chrome plated. Edsel specifically chose a greyhound because in his mind, and in many potential consumers’ minds, the breed stood for speed, stamina and beauty. It might not have the poetic ring of Jaguar’s “grace, pace and space”, but speed, stamina and beauty have sold a lot of cars.

Superhuman stamina of wrestlers
Water is not taken under the hot sun at the midsummer, and the wrestlers fight their to their best ability for 40 minutes. The traditional wrestling of Turkey is one of the most severe games in the world. The wrestlers quitting due to exhaustion is rare, though a few ambulances always stand by outside the stadium in case of emergency. It is surprising that very few wrestlers are overcome by Heat Disorders, etc. Especially considering that oil covers the whole body, and is sure to disturb the evaporation of sweat, not to mention the severe temperature and humidity.

Typical flowers have six stamens inside a perianth (the petals and sepals together), arranged in a whorl around the carpel (pistil). The anthers are bilocular, i.e. they have two locules. Each locule contains a microsporangium. The tissue between the locules and the cells is called the connective. In an immature, unopened flower bud, the filaments are still short. Their function is then to transport nutrients to the developing pollen. They start to lengthen once the bud opens.

Never mind that this guy may look like he just spent the morning at the salon with a fancy lady companion. Out in the wild, the Standard poodle was traditionally a retriever or gun dog --used in particular for duck hunting and upland bird hunting. In this collection of images captured on a sunny winter day in Appalachia, this young male shows off the traits prized by the breed's original hunter/owners: a keen working intelligence, athletic stamina, webbed feet and a love of water.

Many African cultures revere the African Elephant as a symbol of strength and power. It is also praised for its size, longevity, stamina, mental faculties, cooperative spirit, and loyalty. South Africa uses elephant tusks in their coat of arms to represent wisdom, strength, moderation and eternity.

With a 04.00am departure this recent Lincoln to Carlisle special certainly called for a degree of devotion from its passengers. As far as I could see it was full as well.

no one is exactly sure who this lunatic is or why he does what he does. the best theory is based off the suit and glider is that he was a former employee of oscorp. the suit gives him enhanced strength, speed, agility and stamina. the glider can be remotely controlled and fires bullets, bombs, lasers, pies and pretty much anything this clown will load into it. not a real member of the brotherhood of doom. he just takes advantage of the chaos. he has taken to wearing a purple cape lately to try and convince young kids he is really a superhero.

son of a lionel eisenhardt, a holocaust survivor. he took the name of erik luthor and using his powers of magnetism combined with his genius level i.q. built luthorcorp as a front for his evil empire. leader of the brotherhood of doom. he awakened skullnestro despite his intense hatred for his Nazi background. he plans on betraying skullnestro once he has his own yellow power ring and making the earth the center of all power in the universe.
mys kitty (catwoman + mystique)
she uses the alas of selina darkholme and claims to have lost her memory in a plane crash. even a level 5 psychic can only glimpse that she is over a hundred years old and has/is/will be involved in a time travel paradox. she has the natural power of shape shifting that has been augmented to allow her to change into any animal or being at will. though she cannot copy their powers. out of sheer boredom she is a master thief but her true purpose is a natural born killer.
groddernaut (gorilla grodd + juggernaut)
an alien spacecraft crashed in the jungles of Africa. the radiation caused the local apes to mutate into hyper intelligent beings capable of telepathic and telekinetic powers . he was banished from gorilla city after trying to seize control. he discovered the gem of a mystical entity, cyttorak, and was empowered by magically energies. he has been given super strength and a force field to protect him from physical attacks. he does not tire from physical activity and doesn't need food, water of oxygen to survive. once he unlocks all of the gem's powers it will increase his powers a thousand fold. he wears a helmet to protecthim from his only weakness, mental attacks. he can create a replacement helmet at will so long as he has the materials available.

victor octavious, another genius misfit due to an abusive childhood. his former boss set up a lab explosion in an effort to rid himself of a future son-in-law and to sell off victor's inventions. the lab explosion melted a special harness to his back and exposed him to experimental cryogenic chemicals. its unknown if the freeze powers were a result of that exposure or just activated a latent mutation. he swore to make the world pay for the death of his future wife.
mr. stone (soloman grundy + tombstone)
cyrus Lincoln was born an albino. he was bullied at first but then become the bully himself. he started out as a thug but in short time became a hitman and enforcer. he filed his teeth to a point in order to use his condition to inspire fear in his victims. during some criminal activity at oscorp he was caught in an explosion and exposed to an experimental gas and appeared to have killed him. the following Monday his corpse rose out of the swamp. his body had been mutated by the gas and he is a zombie/swamp monster with superhuman strength and stamina. he is nearly invulnerable to physical, magical, energy attacks and is not affected by cold or heat. even when his enemies manage to destroy him, he will return to life sooner or later.
skullnestro (sinestro + red skull)
using the green power ring he stole from a dying alien, he conquered his world and ruled it with an iron fist. he was eventually found out by guardians of that power and he was banished to die on a primitive, violent world called earth. he landed in pre ww2 Germany where he created a mask to hide his physical appearance from the humans. wanting revenge he used the alias of johann schimdt and infiltrated the Nazi party and quickly became one of the highest ranking members where he used their influence to create the hydra corps. under the guise of creating the most powerful weapons the earth had ever seen for the nazis'. the real goal of hydra was to create a new power ring to rival his original ring. with that he would conquer the earth and destroy the guardians. he was defeated before the end of ww2 by an American super soldier and ended up in suspended hibernation until he was awakened by magnus. where the two formed an uneasy alliance. magnus would help skullestro so long as he got the earth for himself.
prince manta (black manta + prince namor) his atlantean father having been sent to spy on the humans, fell in love with a human woman. when his father failed to report in a team of atlanteans was sent to check on him. branded a traitor he was executed. his mother escaped and gave birth to a pink skinned atlantean/human hybrid at the dawn of the 20th century. his mother was eventually locked up in an asylum for the mentally ill and he was placed in an orphanage. where his caretaker soon discovered his gills. he was then experimented on and tortured. he was taken to a lake to test his abilities. he was submerged in water for the first time in his life. it made him stronger, faster and calmed his mind. he attempted to escape and was caught. to punish him his gills were sewn shut and he lost the ability to breath underwater. when he finally did escape for good he spent the next few years of his life working on a way for him to explore the ocean. he created a special suit that allowed him to breath underwater. once in the ocean he encountered the blue skinned atlanteans. eventually he met an American super soldier and joined the allies during world war 2. after world war 2 he became enraged at American nuclear testing that had destroyed his adoptive atlantean home. his natural powers are withstanding extreme pressures, super strength, speed, stamina, agility and longevity. his new suit also has the ability to shoot laser beams from his eyes, electricity from his hands and can he fly with help from his boots. he carries a trident that disables the telepathic powers of full-blooded atlanteans. however he isn't evil by nature and has been both a good guy and a bad guy.
ivy enchantress (poison ivy + enchantress)
am'o-ra found about odin-el's plan to send his son to earth. she told odin-el about her own rocket. that with his help it could be modified to make the trip to earth. she would be in suspended animation until the ship reached earth. by the time she arrived his son would be a mature male and would need a mate. odin-el agreed and sent her to earth before the frost giant destroyed azton. but when she got to earth she found thor-el already in love with a human woman named jane lane. after some time spent on earth she discovered she had incredible strength, speed and a connection to plants. while posing as a student she feel in love with a human professor. she showed him her powers and he was extremely excited. he ended up using her as an experiment to learn about and control her connection to plants. when he got what he wanted he tried to kill her by injecting her with poisonous plant toxins. she survived by becoming part plant but it drove her insane. the plant toxins tinted her hair red and her skin green. she learned to control the level of toxins in her system and appear as a blonde bombshell. the toxins allow her to create different types of pheromones that give her special abilities. she has been known to be able to control the minds of people around her by skin on skin contact. she can also concentrate toxins in her lips to be so strong they can kill with a single kiss. it enhanced her connection to plants and is capable of controling the plants around her. she is even able to animate them into plant creatures. she is convinced that she is the only woman worthy of being with thor-el. she joined the brotherhood of doom when magnus promised her if she helped them then she would get thor-el.

Name: Crimson Cloak (The Cloak)
Secret Identity: Gage Garnet, One time reporter and writer, he has almost fully devoted his time to crime fighting in recent years nearly forsaking his true identity.
Age: late 30s.

***All of the Cloak’s weapons are provided by his friend and inventor William Watts, the owner of Watt Teach Industries and fellow hero Captain Electron.
The Crimson Cloak wears a suit of flexible fiber body armor. His red cape and cowl are both bullet proof and flame proof. He wears a set of goggles that help to magnify his night vision, aiding him in low light environments. His preferred weapon of choice is a high tech staff that detaches at the center to create two smaller batons for close quarter combat. The tip of each baton is slightly electrified to aid The Cloak in dispatching his foes in a non-lethal manner. The Cloak also has an optional "gun" that he can use to launch various non-lethal projectiles at his enemies.

Background/Origin Story:
Gage Garnet has always been a man obsessed with doing what is right, no matter the costs to himself or to others. During his youth, he was obsessed with comics and yearned to be like those men on the colorful pages. He and his brother Jack would spend hours dressing up like superheroes imagining that they were saving the world. As Gage matured, he showed more of an interest in writing and moved to the big city to pursue his interests. While working for The City Tribune, Gage covered a series of stories involving the rise of real heroes in the city. Men and women who put on costumes to fight crime, it was like his dream come true and here he was on the front lines documenting their rise to power.
Tragically, in the midst of Gage’s rise to success as a reporter, his family home is robbed. His parents are murdered by the robbers as they protect his younger brother Jack. Feeling helpless and partly responsible for not being there, Gage crafts his own costume and decides to track down those responsible for the murder, thus adopting his alter ego The Crimson Cloak.
It isn’t long before Gage is covering the stories of his own exploits, articles that soon reach the attention of a fledgling group of masked heroes known as the League of Heroes. The Cloak is invited to join the League. For the next few years, Gage fights crime along side the virtuous members of the League of Heroes. Keeping the city safe.
As the League of Heroes grows stronger and more powerful, Cobalt Cyclone, Silver Sentry, and Viridia all decide that it would be best to remove their masks publicly to gain the trust of the citizens and to remove any doubt that could be cast upon them by a growing crowd of skeptics. The Crimson Cloak disagrees with this measure, as he does not want his career in vigilantism to hurt his brother’s reputation at his new job on the police force. The Cloak declares that he will step down from the team and leave his career as a superhero behind. Gothic, a fellow teammate and also a detractor of this measure, does not wish to have his identity revealed though he will make an even more public statement of protest.
The day arrives for the big reveal, the heroes are all assembled on the steps of City Hall, Cobalt Cyclone steps up to the microphone and addresses the crowd… and BOOM! A bomb explodes from underneath the podium killing Cyclone, severely injuring Silver Sentry, and sending the crowd into a panic. The Crimson Cloak swings into action, and begins investigating the crime. By following the clues he soon comes to the conclusion that The Skull, the most powerful crime boss in the city was behind the plot. Though he is in for an even bigger surprise when he discovers that The Skull is in fact his former friend and teammate Gothic.
In the wake of the bombing, the League of Heroes falls apart. Public support for masked heroes hits an all time low. The Crimson Cloak decides that he will be all that stands between the evil that plagues the city and the justice that he feels the citizens deserve. Becoming darker and more detached, The Crimson Cloak becomes obsessed with his self-imposed duty even at the expense of losing his own identity in the process.
