This male gerenuk shows why this species also is called the "antelope camel," the antelope that thinks it's a camel. Its name, in fact, in Somali, means "camel-necked," and its light upper body provides him with the stamina he needs to feed upright while his strong lower body allows him the run with antelope speed when he needs to. The gerenuk gets its moisture from what it eats and can go its whole life without drinking water. This gerenuk lives in the Samburu National Reserve iin northern Kenya. ©2022 John M. Thank you for your kind visit. Have a wonderful and beautiful day! ❤️❤️❤️
As I was taking pictures of our tulips recently, I struggled with finding an interesting background. Hence, I've tried other compositions like this one, where I like the softness of the petals which is a result of focusing onto the stamina. I hope you like it and I wish everyone a great Sunday!
Bald Cypress trees can live to be over 600 years old.
The Atchafalaya Basin in South Louisiana contains a multitude of these who've weathered & withstood countless and treacherous hurricanes over the years......
The fact that this gnarly old Bald Cypress still stands bare, all alone, and without protection surely reveals its tenacity, stamina & endurance......
No doubt it’s seen many, many moons pass over…..like the waning crescent in the background. Hopefully it’ll see decades more…..
Thank Y'all for the continued visits and wonderful comments.....
Such a pleasure to hear from so many wonderful & talented folks both near and afar.
I hope your Sunday is as blessed as mine was that day.

Rework and improvement of an image from a rather challenging slide originally uploaded 12 years ago. The original has been deleted.
Going 'off the beaten track' in the 1970s was more often than not a rewarding experience.
In this shot from 1976 I took the 2-car DMU from Manningtree down the Harwich branch and here Gloucester R.C. & W. motor brake second E50346 stands at Harwich Town terminus waiting time before the return journey. Unusually it was coupled to a Cravens Trailer E56435 (out of shot).
There was definitely a sleepy backwater feel to the area, and it was nice to see the porter's trolley still there, although I can't imagine it would be getting much use by then. The two car ramps in the background, by now showing signs of disuse were, presumably for loading and unloading cars to and from the nearby ferry terminal at Parkestone Quay. The sign under the awning reads 'Bus / Ship Information'.
On an Eastern Region Rover at the time, my route that day was: Nottingham - Grantham - London Kings Cross - London Liverpool St - Manningtree - Harwich Town - Manningtree - Norwich - Reedham - Norwich - London Liverpool St - London Kings Cross - then an overnight train to Newcastle for a day travelling around the North East, before returning to Nottingham for a night back home. I certainly wouldn't have the stamina for a jaunt like that now.....

This shot really did tax my stamina. I had to slog my way all of about 400m from the front door of the hotel weighed down by a hearty breakfast to grab this shot. Just a case of picking some foreground and positioning the trees then waiting. Initially the Buckle was in solid shade but then the sun rose enough to start blasting through some gaps and travel across the landscape. I took a number of shots but picked this one for the position of the light and the clear peak.

The stamen (plural stamina or stamens) is the pollen-producing reproductive organ of a flower.
A stamen typically consists of a stalk called the filament and an anther which contains microsporangia.

Following the fierce mating battle the victorious deer approaches the female. The female runs off and is followed closely by the male.
I didn't have the stamina to chase after them, perhaps another day...
