Stack theme week #3 - the Elements
i had a hard time finding fabrics that fit with this theme, as i didn't want to be too literal in the interpretation of earth, water, fire, wind, and sky. i started off with the middle fabric (a vintage feedsack that reminded me of fire), and went from there.

A friend and I were waiting for our drinks at the Starbucks by the waterfront and I was bored. Not wanting to attract attention, I had to refrain from using the flash. I think it worked out alright, though.

When we moved in to our house our friends brought us this plant as a house warming gift. I have no idea what its called but it has these interesting flowers every so often. I tried focus stacking with 7 images - not entirely successful but it was fun!

I couldn't get closer or shoot more because my reversed lens isn't sticked to my camera, neither does my extension tube (I have to hold it :( and do everything manually without a stand) so it's hard to take a lot of photos with different focal depths :(

Ruff and Ready is a hipster’s dream. It is only open on the weekends. It is technically antique but has the stacked inventory of a thrift store. All prices end in the number 7 and the owner doesn’t know why, its just tradition. It’s not super cheap, but they will bargain with you. It is one of those perfect places that locals have known about for ages and new residents need to know about immediately. ~ from i spy things DC
“Ruff & Ready Furnishings is a classic, old-fashioned 'Junque' store that sells good, usable furniture," says owner Bill Troy, who unearths the majority of his pre-1950s finds from estates and at Sloan and Weschler auctions. The 5,000-square-foot space, divided into two areas by an outdoor space filled with wrought-iron tables, glass blocks now popular for room dividers, planters and various other garden furniture and accessories, is packed to the rafters.
These are first attempts at stacking images in photoshop. Having gained a lot of knowledge I can now better prepare for the next one. Not perfect, but this is a learning process for me. I'm definitely not a photoshop guy.

South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.
Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.
There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower.
The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk. The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.

Looking at these figures I was suddenly, almost forcibly, jerked clean out of the habitual, half-tied vision of things, and an inner clearness, clarity, as if exploding from the rocks themselves, became evident and obvious.
