Sometimes, the smaller scale prints make good stacks, just very different from the large scale print results :)
A few images from a recent visit to Stack Rock fort. It is testament to the skill of the engineers and builders of the day that the main structure is still in such good condition.
These really awesome gangly long legged spiders live in my closet and vaulted cieling. I like them because they take care of the fungus gnats which come with having indoor plants in the desert. I am impressed as the body is so terribly small yet the legs are over two inches long. The fact that they can still provide enough force to allow this spider to function is amazing.
They are smart too -- I tried to pick one up that was migrating across the kitchen countertop. I thought it was a harvestman, yet I never was able to scoop it up. it would dodge this way, fake that way, fluidly change directions (very un-harvestman like!). I didn't want to hurt it so I gave up when it hid under some dirty dishes.

Canadian Pacific ES44AC 8870 leads westbound stack train through Rondout, IL. The track crossing the shot formerly belonged to the Elgin Joliet & Eastern Railway, now part of Canadian National.
The fruits of my daughters' afternoon's labours. No need for anything electronic to keep them occupied on the beach! Wisemans Bridge, Wales
South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.
Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.
There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower.
The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk. The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.

Vintage lacquer stackable snack dishes. I suspect they were produced in Japan but they don't have any markings.
Stacks keep me interested because, even though I have a general idea of what a stack will look like, there are always elements of the finished block that surprise me. On top are three eight-stacks of diamonds and below them are the blocks they made. These are cut from a 2.5 inch strip, so when the seam allowances are taken, the finished block looks quite different from the stack set.
seena few of these this year, both as individuals and in a grouping like this, growing on trees. top is velvety medium brown, and the stalk is almost a purple-brown at the base.

Two UP Stack trains meet in Traver, CA. This is a small town of about 700 people along the SR-99 "valley" corridor of the Central Valley of California. Traver is known for its grain exports.
Today these two stack trains waste no time blazing through town, even with an older Southern Pacific (now UP) loco second out on the Westbound (Compass North) train.

A Westbound stack train with BNSF power holds at the interlocking, lots of reefers on the first block of cars...the clip-on gen-sets are converted from A-Line trailer reefer units by shortening them.
Just for fun!
I love the look of cookie stacks weird I know but I was messing around with one of my sugar cookie recipes/flavors and loved the way these stacked up!
Will post what I did with these later :)
