Love making these blocks with leftover stacked fabrics because the final block is always different than the last one! This time, I'm using four sets of six stacks for each block.

Someone obviously had a lot of time on their hands...

Taken with my Minolta 110 Zoom SLR camera using Lomography Tiger film. No flash was used.

The universe itself is God and the universal outpouring of its soul. --Chrysippus (Quoted by Cicero in De Natura Deorum)

Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness

Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun

Conspiring with him how to load and bless

With fruit the vines that round the thatch-eves run;

To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,

And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;

To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells

With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,

And still more, later flowers for the bees,

Until they think warm days will never cease,

For Summer has o'er-brimm'd their clammy cells. --To Autumn. by John Keats

Stack Rocks near Castlemartin, Pembrokeshire.

Stack of pallets cross processed using DxO Film Pack

Sometimes, the smaller scale prints make good stacks, just very different from the large scale print results :)

South Stack is famous as the location of one of Wales' most spectacular lighthouses, South Stack Lighthouse. It has a height of 41 metres (135 feet). It has a maximum area of 7 acres.

Until 1828 when an iron suspension bridge was built, the only means of crossing the deep water channel on to the island was in a basket which was suspended on a hemp cable. The suspension bridge was replaced in 1964, but by 1983 the bridge had to be closed to the public, due to safety reasons. A new aluminium bridge was built and the lighthouse was reopened for public visits in 1997. Thousands of people flock to the lighthouse every year, thanks to the continued public transport service from Holyhead's town centre.

There are over 400 stone steps down to the footbridge (and not, as local legend suggests, 365), and the descent and ascent provide an opportunity to see some of the 4,000 nesting birds that line the cliffs during the breeding season. The cliffs are part of the RSPB South Stack Cliffs bird reserve, based at Elin's Tower.

The Anglesey Coastal Path passes South Stack, as does the Cybi Circular Walk. The latter has long and short variants; the short walk is 4 miles long and takes around two hours to complete. Travelling from the Breakwater Country Park, other sites along the way are the North Stack Fog Signal station, Caer y Tŵr, Holyhead Mountain and Tŷ Mawr Hut Circles.

Stacking Experiement.

After this one similar phot few days ago, I tried more of that, but with a bit more control, so digital base photos. Not every subject is suited, but I think this is a variant of „multiexposure“ I like better that the 2 or 3 overlays you have usually. But, honestly, I don't know whether I will put more time in this.

In Stack Room 2 you see the stacks of books from printmaking through the subject of books themselves. At the far back are the illustrated children's book. The signs on each stack indicate the subjects housed there.

My little circus owls - Lil' on top, Bubba on the bottom left, Tiny on the bottom right.

Bubba works with the elephants, Tiny is the strong man (real name Barnaby, but who can be a strong man with a name like that?), and Lil' is the contortionist!

Two UP Stack trains meet in Traver, CA. This is a small town of about 700 people along the SR-99 "valley" corridor of the Central Valley of California. Traver is known for its grain exports.

Today these two stack trains waste no time blazing through town, even with an older Southern Pacific (now UP) loco second out on the Westbound (Compass North) train.

The Akron Railroad Club recently had its annual outing to Vermilion, Ohio. We spent the morning at the South Street boat launch on the Vermilion River watching Norfolk Southern trains cross the bridge. Shown is a westbound stack train as seen from the upper parking lot.
