I got inky with @simonsaysstamp August 2017 card kit. I used the MISTI for stamp alignment and Distress Oxide inks (love how solidly they stamp). I added a few of the puffy stickers included in the kit. Entering this card into both the @simonsaysstamp Wednesday and Flickr challenges (better late than never π).

This card is for entry into SSSflickrchallenge#68 and SSSwchallenge. I used "inside and outside sayings", "coffee & tea", "funny food" stamp sets and "dot scallop border" die all from simonsaysstamp . There are some "new" here: I used for the first time the "funny food" and "sayings" stamp set after purchsaing them. Coloring donut is also a new thing to me, I was so nervous while coloring it ^^;;

In the interest of keeping it real, I'm not so sure about this card. Simple design, but the execution went a bit awry. Not exactly what I had in my head. And I could not get it to show well on the pictures, the pencil coloring looks more vibrant in real life. Still, here it goes. Stamps are from January @mymonthlyhero and Color Layering Rose from @heroarts. I'll be entering this card in @simonsaysstamp Wednesday challenge.

This card was mainly inspired by the inspirational photo with several apples at the current Paper Smooshes Challenge. It combines the Back to School theme from that challenge and the Lawnscaping Challenge with the Home Grown Theme from Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge and the Tie It Up Theme from Simon Says Stamp's Wednesday Challenge. (Actually, my Big Shot tied this bow for me ;o).)
All stamps from PS "Falling for you". The big apple from that set was stamped with Distress Ink and then colored in with watercolor pencils.

& TIOT Colours of Autumn
I started with a 4.25β x 5.5β 110lb Neenah solar white cardstock. I have no idea who this beautiful whimsical stencil is from but I just love it. Taped down the cardstock to the stencil from the back + I got to work with ink blending all these beautiful Distress Oxide colors: fired brick, candied @pple, wild honey, fossilized amber, spiced marmalade, peeled paint & walnut stain. Added some water droplets then spritzed the whole panel with some perfect pearls + Watertown give it sparkle. I trimmed down my panel with the 3rd rectangle from the infinity dies. I then cut 3 strips to create the band that goes across the card. One strip in Old Olive and two strips in white that I butt up against the top + bottom edges of the Old Olive strip. I then cut out a square in white + stamped the sentiment from SSS Apple of My Pie Stamp set in Versa Fine Onyx Black + heat embossed it with clear. I did a second layer of VersaMark ink + clear embossing powder to make it stand out but my stamp wasnβt quite aligned perfectly so instead it looks like a light gray shadow behind the letters + I really liked it. happy mistake! I added some foam dots to the back for added dimension + centered it on card front. Took the panel + attached it to a 4.25β x 5.5βOld Olive card base. Added some sequin for texture, sparkle + good measure + my card was complete.

This is one of two cards that are , well, oddballs. I've had this stamp set of Shakespeare's quotes from #heroarts for a while now, and I like that "Moon, take thy flight" sentiment for a friend whose last name is Moon. I wanted the owl to fly across a full moon along a trail of stars. I used the moon die included in July #mymonthlyhero to cut the moon out of a #distressoxide background, which I inlaid into the panel. But the first version (all black) looked somber and perhaps "Halloweeny". So I made another, this time I blended a cloudy night sky and used a white card base. Still unsure about these cards, but I did learn something: I like the way Distress Oxides blend on Bristol cardstock. I'm also entering at least one of these cards into the "anything goes" #simonsaysstamp Wednesday challenge. #mymonthlyhero, #heroarts, #distressoxide, #handmadecards, #cardmaking, #ssswchallenge.
