This squirrel lays flat on his stomach in the shade on a hot summer day.

The squirrel sat hunched as it nibbled off parts of the grub. It was engrossed in eating and ignoring what was around.

Lava Hot Springs was full of these giant squirrels. They are not native to the west, so someone must have released them here.

The new crop of baby squirrels is in. Looks to be a good crop this year!

Day 5 part one, some shots from the balcony of a Blue Tit that was nesting in a gap between the branches of a tree, and the friendly squirrel back again to pinch the ducks' food. More later in parts two down t'mine, part three in an odd wood and part four back on site with the Mandarins...

As I was heading up the hill to the squirrel place a couple with a labrador puppy were coming down. The squirrels, especially the younger ones, spent the feeding session staying real close to the trees in case the "monster" should come back.
