My blond fox squirrel was back and looking cute. Was the only squirrel out there and no birds around at all. Was noticing that there is a red glint to his eyes today, more so than blue. Took his photo then movement caught my eye and I saw the hawk on a branch right above his head.

She's the bolder of the at least two squirrels that visited me today -- the other ran off as soon as I opened the patio door. They're drawn by the food I leave them, but haven't yet connected me with that food.
Red squirrels and fox squirrels hanging out at our house in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Two fun things. First, a red squirrel seemed to have moved into the squirrel home we have! Second, we noticed how the squirrel leapt through the fence next to our house. Fun to watch those little ones in the snow. Here are some pictures of my squirrel neighbors taken between February 11th and February 28th, 2023.
By Sandee Vartanian Dusbiber. He came down finally from the tall tree and thought the squirrels would notice him by the tree. He was hoping , that he would get invited to play in the snow with the squirrels. Finally, a couple of real chubby girl squirrels came towards him. I think these girls thought he was cute, and the next thing I saw they were all playing and running in the snow . Maybe now he has been accepted. The girl squirrels must of thought he had a thick fur to keep them warm. He also had some corn that I had just gave him.

While I was taking some photos of the little birds flying about, this cute little grey squirrel decided to come and pose for me! Looks as though he has been in a fight thought as he has a patch of fur missing between his eyes - poor wee guy.
