Squirrel love.

I remember this morning for the rest of my life. I was eating breakfast in the kitchen and looked outside and I saw two cute squirrels "making love". Then I quickly grabbed my camera and shot nice photos of this unforgettable moment.

Another squirrel hug from the same session can be seen here: Squirrel Hug

The ever reliable squirrels save the day again

I haven't had a squirrel around since June so I've been going through my old pictures because I really miss seeing them. This is a macro shot I took of Jelly Belly...she was a real cutie and very trusting.

A confident Squirrel...

One of the colony of red squirrels that race around among the pine trees on Formby Point near Liverpool.

This squirrel kid had more than half of his tail missing; the wound seemed to be healing. I haven't seen him since yet.

A grey squirrel at Dunfermline glen.

This little squirrel at Richmond Nature Park, not far from Vancouver, was eating so frantically at this feeder that he would have burrowed right inside the feeder if he could have! He took no notice of me and a friend watching, but as soon as a group of school children turned up he was off like a shot.

Douglas Squirrels live in coniferous forests, from the Sierra Nevada (mountains) of California, northwards to coastal British Columbia and Southeast Alaska. They are active by day throughout the year. In summer nights, they sleep in ball-shaped nests that they make in the trees, but in the winter they use holes in trees as nests.
