In the Christmas season, when I was young, my brother and I used to have a wonderful time squirting orange peels into the flames of a candle. Squirt! and the flame would do all sorts of interesting things.
This set is an attempt to capture that experience photographically. It wasn't easy, because the flame effect is very quick.

She did not come with a face-up. So now I'm waiting on the sleeping head that I decided to order after to send them both for a face up.
I call her my chunky monkey. She is wearing clothes from Kelly with a little squeeze as she has fat arms and legs but otherwise they fit okay.
Can't wait for her to get a face!! Some eyelashes too I think.

While I haven't been fortunate enough to spend quite as much time as I would have liked exploring the rain drenched reaches of Starr County recently I did make it out a few times with some good success. I spent a number of hours late one night swimming around in a small pond, slowly stalking breeding pairs of Mexican Burrowing Toads.
Once a male has successfully attracted a mate with his haunting call, he will grasp her hind regions, entering into a mating ritual known as amplexus. As the female deposits her eggs in the water the male will release a sperm-filled fluid to fertilize them.
Unfortunately they were quite shy of my lights and the water was really quite murky for any reasonable underwater or split level shots... but here is a male putting the squeeze on his lady!
