Day 28 of Moustache May 2009
Theme day: Feel free to use Photoshop (but just for today)
I've been manipulating curves during post-processing lately to make things more blue-y.
This is in reference to that.

Hi. I'm Tigger. Remember me? I used to greet everyone who came into Sugar Mill Gardens. Now, I've become a bit of a recluse. It's not that I don't LIKE people, but I just get a little more tired these days. Which brings me to my next thought....
Lately, my person, Chris, has been bringing LOADS of people in here. I mean...who does she think she IS, anyway?! I'm retired for cryin' out loud! Suddenly, just when I thought I'd hit the good life, with nothing to do but sleep, eat, and occasionally leave one of my claws broken off in Barrymore's nose, (he deserved it; really he did!) all these guys are marching in and out of here, making a racket, and bringing boxes, and big pieces of furniture, and changing the nice arrangement I had going here, making life very uneasy for me. Sheesh! The only place I get any peace is under my bed! Errr.....Chris' bed. (She likes when I pretend she owns it.)
"TIGGER!!!"
Whoa....yeah, Mom! ( I'd better pretend I'm sleeping.)
"Tigger, Barrymore, and Squeegee, AND I have had some big changes happening in our lives lately. We have been making room for my brother and his three sons to move in with us. Shawn has recently been going through a divorce, and will be moving into my house for a while. My nephews will be here about a third of the time. It's a big change having men around! the decibel level has increased dramatically, and everything's been moved around. The kitties, especially Tigger, don't seem to like it too much. Surprisingly, it's usually Barrymore who runs and hides, and Tigger who greets everyone. With all the commotion this week, though, Tigger has been acting like a big fraidy cat,"
HAVE NOT!!!
"YES, you HAVE. And Barrymore has been the brave one! It's certainly an unexpected twist."
I was just caught off guard; that's all!
"Sure. Go back to sleep, Tigger."
Sheesh....
"Anyway, Shawn will be moving in over the next two days. Hopefully everything will be back to normal, somewhat, after that. I'm still running like a nut. This week I'm rearranging the house, and working 3 jobs. I'm pretty beat. So, that's why I haven't been around. Another week or two and things should settle down a bit."
THANK GOD!!!
"Go back to sleep, Tigger!!!"
we saw this guy hose spaying off the windows. this photo was taken on a nasty wet rainy day..
if it had been me, i think i would have put the ladder under the window, and washed the window using a squeegee instead of using a hose from the top of the roof
i don't know, it just seems to make more sense to me.

Oto kilka rad, dzi...

Don't do it. If I had any free hands, this would have gotten a big thumbs DOWN. However, it is raining on and off and no one has been by to squeegee the outdoor tables. Not wishing to put my plate down in a puddle, I took cover in that alcove near the stairs with the lady's head on the bannister.
The "crust" - and I use that term loosely, since there isn't anything remotely "crusty" about it - is bready, which is typical of Sicilian-style pizza. Neapolitan-style pizza does not seem to be available at the window. Since there's nothing crispy going on anywhere on this thing, the "crust" is a FAIL. If you were expecting more than half a teaspoon of tomato sauce (I was), then you will be disappointed. The cheese at least is pretty fresh.
They are clearly making the take out window pizza on the cheap - VERY cheap. I won't be doing this again unless someone - ok MANY someones tell me that it has improved.
FAIL
A washout booth was constructed out of an old bath/shower tub that had been laying around stored in the warehouse. Installed with running water and drainage. In front you can see the vacuum table assembly that matches the pre-drilled table top.
The parts here are the tank itself, a stainless steel spindle (this one is for 35mm film, lid, and the cap.
In the dark, wind the film onto its spindle, place the spindle into the tank, plafe the cover ov the can, turn on the lights.
The lid has a baffle in it, rendering it light-proof. Developer is poured into the tank. Place the lid on now, and holding the can, you turn it over, and then back, 3 times. Set it on the bench. After 3 minutes, pick up the can and turn it upside down and back 3 more times.
Developing time is different for each kind on film. When the proper amount of time is reached, take the rubber cap off the can and pour the developer into the sink.
Get the container of fixer and fill the can with it. You then use the same method as with the developer, turning the can upside down, then right. When the correct amount of time is reached, you remove the cap (or lid) off and pour out the hixer.
All that remains now is the water rinse, and this differes with each lab, as there are several methods to wash film. When the wash is complete, remove the film from the spindle and, hang it on the string across the the sinks. a cllothespin is usually used. Gently run a squeegee down the film to remove any water droplets may be on the negatives.
When the negatives are dry, they are ready to make a contact sheet for examining. The film is cut into strips, and placed in a special sleevel made for keeping the negatives as clearn as possible.
That's all there is to it. Now, tomorrow morning, you will shoot your next assignment, come in, develope the film, make a contact sheet for me to study. And we'll go from there. Any questions?
This is an awesome Beach Ball Photo Prop that Lyndzay Meili of [Lyndz-Matic] made for Operation Squeegee. The wearable Beach Ball includes 7 custom poses that can be changed by a menu. It's only 100 L and all of the proceeds go to the National Wildlife Federation to help recovery efforts from the ongoing oil-spill in the gulf coast ecosystem.
Run on over to grab it from July 1st through 15th!
Squeegee loves to play, and the camera strap is just fine with him! Trying to get a closeup of him with my Kodak generally means he'll be at play, but he enjoys it so much, I don't mind the weird shots I get! (Oh, and that black thing in his mouth you can barely make out in large size is the strap! LOL!)
Yes, he DOES need his teeth cleaned, too. Poor Squeegee sees the vet way more than he'd like. We do that as seldom as possible because he's so stressed when he goes. It seems every time he's there he's getting shots and bloodwork and getting his belly squeezed hard. It's necessary to help him because he's been a sickly cat, but it causes him a lot of pain and he HATES the poor vet! He'll get the teeth done sometime when he DOESN'T have to have other painful things done!

For this assignment of triptych, I decided to take 3 different photos that are all doing something different and put them together. This meets the project goal because all the photos flow together. I have created a story in my triptych. Its about a girl wanting to disappear and so she is smearing her face. I think I have good lighting in the photos and dark shadows that help create a sad mood.
This didn't take that long to make this photo. I had my little sister sit against the wall with a squeegee in her hand. The sun had already set so to get good lighting, I used a flashlight. I had her do 3 positions to show the story. When I edited the photos in Photoshop, I made the picture black and white and there was a lot of noise reduction so I fixed that in camera raw. Also, I blurred my sisters face in the picture to get the affect the she smeared her face.
My strength in this photo is creating a story. You can really tell what she is doing in 3 photos and putting them together. Another strength in this photo is the lighting. I did a good job getting lighting around her arms and on the sides of her face. If I could change anything I think I would try to take the pictures in the day time to get better lighting and fix her face a little because it looks a little blurred.

I almost couldn't pull the squeegee I was so freaked by this image!
Trust me if there is one thing we Mixed Species dudes can do well it's piss off our better half's with our stupid shmanigans. So when we see a face like this we know just what to do, get down and beg for mercy if that doesn't do the trick then self castrate.
The background plate on this limited run can never be reproduced. The stencil used in the background was an old screen of letters and numbers used to print an airplane control panel that a friend blasted swirls in while bored at work. The ink used for the back ground bleaches the color from the garment and is inconsistent so every shirt printed is a little different.
Thanks to Atlanta's hot humid summer weather, Xi Lan's fans had to use squeegees to clear the fog from the ouside of the panda house windows this morning. Xi Lan seemed to find this highly entertaining and came over to play.
this was the best part of this shoot...

11/09/2025. Cuxton, UK. The Princess of Wales during a visit to the Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent, a family business that specialises in hand designing and screen- printing furnishing fabrics. The Princess spent time with Design Director Tandine Rawkins, and observed how she free-hand sketches all the artwork for every design. Her Royal Highness then moved to the printing room and had the opportunity to take part in screen-printing a design on fabric by pushing coloured dyes through an engraved silk-screen using a squeegee. The Princess also observed the last step in the production process where the printed fabric is fed through a conveyor oven, which heat-fixes the print to the basecloth. I've always loved watching windows get washed from the inside. And the dinos she habitually keeps on the dashboard just made the shot, for me.
This was taken at the gas station right by the mainland side of the Fernbridge.

Perhaps the most challenging part for me. On this casting, I learned that the alginate must be thick enough (1/8" - 1/4" ?) to keep its shape under the weight of the plaster. My first two castings went well (my bother-in-law and his daughter), but the plaster was not stout enough, causing distortion. This time, the alginate was thinned out becuase I believe I applied the plaster too soon and the weight squeegeed the alginate down his face without my notice.
This is what I found after having removed the film from the canister.
My first ever developed film and it was quite nervewrecking. The result seems a little dark, but I can see all the negatives.
36 grams of D76 powder in 240ml of 60°C water .
1+4 320ml of Kodak D76 for 10.30 minutes (spilt 30ml during an inversion…). 6 Paterson revolvements every minute.
1 minute Amaloco S Stop with 6 revolvements.
3 minutes Amaloco Fixer (made 500ml per instructions)
10 minutes of waterwash. Final wash with 300ml distilled water and wetting agent.
Used a wet squeegee – almost everyone advised against this – to wipe the hanging film.

Was supposed to go to church this morning but I woke up pretty late. When I did get around to getting out of bed Joejoe hit me up to go to the UVT garage. I got ready, updated my Flickr from the day before, then went to scoop him up. Before we went to UVT we dropped by Aimee's house so he could give her a book. We got to the garage and I ended up buying a shirt and some pomade. Good stuff. Went to Barnes and Noble after so I could buy a book then to Jamba Juice where Joejoe treated me to a smoothie. I dropped him off then went back to my house to order my books for school. After that I went to church then got gas. While I was pumping my gas I cleaned my car with the squeegee they had. I felt hella ghetto. Went back home to eat and now Im just doing homework and kicking it with Trinydad. GG.

This is my Siamese mix, Barrymore. He's the consumate lap cat, and at 19 lbs., it's enough to make you feel you have an anvil on your lap!
I was concerned about his size, fearing that he could be diabetic. My vet , however, said that he is very healthy, and not really obese, and that his large size is probably due to some Maine Coon thrown in the mix, which also accounts for a major shedding problem from a thick undercoat. He's a beautiful boy, and unlike Squeegee and Tigger, very quiet!

How to Apply Vinyl Wall Decal
One of the appeals of wall art using vinyl is how easy it is to apply. No difficult techniques, installation or expertise is required. Regardless of the style, content, or size of walls decals, there are two standard ways to apply them: with or without transfer tape.
WITH TRANSFER TAPE:
This method is very similar to the process of applying a temporary tattoo, sans the water. The reversed image arrives on transfer paper and it is applied to the wall by using a squeegee, ruler or other tool to rub the appliqué to the surface. This technique is especially useful if your art includes small details that are hard to place by hand, or when it is important that your decal is perfectly straight, such as a quote.
WITHOUT TRANSFER TAPE:
This method is basically the same thing as putting a stick on your wall (don’t worry; these stickers come off much easier than traditional ones!). This is best if your decal is more of an artsy design, large letters, or if you don’t have transfer paper on hand.
When applying vinyl, be sure you measure your space and place your vinyl correctly. You can rearrange it a bit after it’s applied, but it’s best to try and get it right the first time.
If your walls have any texture on them, you’ll have to rub a bit extra to ensure the vinyl adheres smoothly. If your walls have too much texture to them, the vinyl might not adhere evenly and you might experience peeling of the vinyl. It’s best to choose surfaces that are ultra-smooth such as glass, metal, smooth wood or other smooth surfaces in your home.
Wall Inspired is one of the most popular places to find vinyl decals to dress up your home. They specialize in children’s vinyl wall art and canvas wall hangings, which is a great way to dress up your nursery or kids bedrooms.
Vinyl is a great option for growing kids because it is so easy to apply and easy to change as they grow. You can see more of Wall Inspired products at their Etsy Shop.
