I new there would be puddles of water on the municipal tennis courts after the recent rains. I was lucky because a tennis instructor was squeegeeing off the courts at the time and I was able to capture a few good reflections of palms against the sunset. The distortion in this image definitely ads a dreamy quality.
Hand screenprinted print. Paper: Stonehenge 90 lb cover weight, Natural. I love the deckled edges of this paper so I leave them on, in this case the deckle is left on the top. 11"x14" size, edition of 50.
This wasn't a particularly good shot of Squeeks. I'm not sure if I'm loving the edit, either, but I guess that's how you learn.
Sometimes there's a glitch on Picnik that over sharpens, or doesn't show what the actual edit will look like until you hit save. The thumbnail of this looks a lot different than the final edit I did, and hopefully it's not going to change drastically when I hit save!
This shot was taken several years ago, probably back in 2007. Squeegee was about nine then. He's an old boy of 14 now, and every bit the troublemaker he ever was! He's still my baby, and I love him, despite his penchant for instigating fights!
This is an awesome Beach Ball Photo Prop that Lyndzay Meili of [Lyndz-Matic] made for Operation Squeegee. The wearable Beach Ball includes 7 custom poses that can be changed by a menu. It's only 100 L and all of the proceeds go to the National Wildlife Federation to help recovery efforts from the ongoing oil-spill in the gulf coast ecosystem.
Run on over to grab it from July 1st through 15th!
Marcus, Molly, Amy, and I drove around the city, went to mcdonalds, drove to the top of the parking garage, took a few pictures. Marcus squeegeed the inside of the windows on the car, sang Britney Spears, and then proceeded to tell us he was 'normal' hahahhahahaahahahah!
Then we dropped Amy off, and headed back home. We stopped at a restaurant ate fries, then went back to Molly's and hung out there, singing eachother lullaby's, eating candy, and laughing wayyy too much <3

Screenprinted poster for Ben Harper. 3-color screen print, orange, brown, and black. Size: 18x24. Paper: Cougar White, 100lb cover. Edition of 150
Maybe you've been wondering about the latest on the bathroom renovation saga. The short version is that I returned to Trinidad on July 12, hoping to resume work both the almost-complete larger bathroom and the far-from-complete smaller one, only to learn that a key member of the crew may have had a nervous breakdown (not in any way related to my renovation job, I'm sure).
I've been too busy settling back in to deal, but today the intrepid Louis Armstrong, my joiner, came to install the glass wall in the main bathroom (towel placed there mainly for effect). So now I can take a shower without having to squeegee the floor of the entire bathroom afterward. Now only for the walls to be painted and shelving and towel racks to be installed. But one step at a time.

This poster was created for a FotoFest exhibition titled Mechanical Perception featuring photographic work by Mei-Mei Dillard, Eileen Maxson, Brian Piana, Soody Sharifi and Anderson Wrangle. These artists are also alumni from the University of Houston Photo/Digital Media program hence the lineup for this show. Mechanical Perception exhibition runs from September 5 – October 12, 2008 at the FotoFest Headquarters.
This was one of my first poster outside the usual Nameless Sound or rock music poster; this being one for a local art space. This was also the first poster that I created my new studio space, Box 13 ArtSpace. It was challenging to work in a new yet smaller studio space. As you can see, there are no drying racks so I had to lay everything out on the floor. Hopefully I can get a drying rack in the future.
This was from the second day of screenprinting. You can see the second color just after running the squeegee across and I lift up the screen.

Lines on the image probably caused by squeegee... a good reason not to use one! Oh well, you live and learn!
Winter was pretty easy around here this year so my car didn't see any snow, ice or road salt. That didn't mean it wasn't desperately dirty. I had a friend properly correct paint on the hatch as an Oregon gas pump attendant tried to wash it with the squeegee and scratched it to hell...
Paint was washed, decontaminated with IronX and Griot's clay before being protected with Avalon King Armor Shield IX. The wheels were removed from the car one at a time, washed front and back and protected using BlackFire Wet Diamond paint sealant. While the wheels were off, the wheel arches were cleaned and any accumulated dirt cleaned out. The interior was vacuumed and dusted, front seats got leather cleaner and rejuvenator from Griot's while the glass got cleaned inside and out.
About 12 man hours went into getting the car back up to snuff.

Engaging in the art of Sister Corita Kent
In honor of the re-issued book “Learning by Heart” by Sister Corita Kent and Jan Steward, a series of events were planned. A silkscreen workshop at the Corita Center in Los Angeles was designed to engage the community in the spirit of the authors, propose that anyone would create something themselves, and contribute to a joyous ceremony in the manner of the 1960’s Mary’s Day’s celebrations organized by Corita.
Banners and shirts were adorned with words collected by Jan Steward and designed by Handbuilt Studio. People and children that pulled squeegees, poured inks and stared at their creation until it dried engaged in the celebration deeply and became treasure owners.
Conceived to engage even very young children, the workshop taught by making, and sharing a creative experience.
Kodak 400 TX. I was enamored with this dim street. Rome, 2014. This frame has a few waterspots from where I didn't squeegee the film properly, but I decided to leave them in.
100% of the proceeds go to the National Wildlife Federation to help with the oil clean up. Oh yeah and they are only 100L. Baked textures with sculpted bow and metal links.
11/09/2025. Cuxton, UK. The Princess of Wales during a visit to the Marina Mill in Cuxton, Kent, a family business that specialises in hand designing and screen- printing furnishing fabrics. The Princess spent time with Design Director Tandine Rawkins, and observed how she free-hand sketches all the artwork for every design. Her Royal Highness then moved to the printing room and had the opportunity to take part in screen-printing a design on fabric by pushing coloured dyes through an engraved silk-screen using a squeegee. The Princess also observed the last step in the production process where the printed fabric is fed through a conveyor oven, which heat-fixes the print to the basecloth. 4 screens down and one more to go. I'm ending up using my squeegee each layer because of my paper size. I'm registering by eye and varying ink colors. Each print is different.
The Xynole soaks up a lot of resin - 9 or 10 gallons for the first coat. Betsy stirred all day. The vertical side surfaces were a challenge. What worked best for us was to pour the resin on a foam roller as it pushed it up, then squeegee. The weather has gotten unseasonably cool; waiting for warmer temps this weekend to apply the second coat.
Montblanc Great Characters Andy Warhol writing instrument.
The Great Characters Edition Andy Warhol is paying tribute to one of the major proponents of the Pop Art Movement. With his striking works, Andy Warhol broke down the barriers between ‘high art’ and ‘commercial art’ and made a sensation turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. The complementary contrast between the cobalt blue precious resin of the barrel and the narrow orange rings on the cone and forepart reflect the colour variations in Warhol’s Colored Campbell’s Soup can series from 1965, which are also carefully worked into the stainless steel cap. A dollar sign is finely engraved on the handcrafted, rhodium-coated gold nib of the fountain pen, while the squeegee he used in silkscreen printing is captured in the design of the clip. The cap ring of the edition is adorned with an engraving of Warhol’s signature.
