Jasper has this rubber Nerf football that has an exceedingly loud squeaker. Luckily he doesn't get it out too often, but occasionally he'll take it to his Ottoman Empire and squeak it to show who rules the land.

'Squeakers' appears to be the correct name of young of Wild boar when they are 10 months or younger, and I guess these two are.

By the way, in the left-hand corner you can see the leg and tail of an adult Wild boar, which shows how small the young are! [Explored on 11/11/2023, #97]

Bubble and squeak is a British dish made from cooked potatoes and cabbage, mixed together and fried.

My black kitten has decided to return to her original colour after being almost white for a few weeks.

I found this little guy last week, in my neighbors driveway, he had fallen out of his nest. The mommy and daddy bird werent able to help him, so I took him "under my wing" so to speak. Made a little nest for him, and did my best to take care of him. I called up a couple nature centers and an animal rehab center, to try to figure out what baby birds eat and such, and how to take care of them. They also told me, that a bird this young, who was on his own, the chances of survival are pretty low. Unfortunately, they were right. I found him this past Saturday afternoon, and he didnt make it. I guess the only comfort I had in all of this, was knowing I was able to give this little birdy an extra few days of life, and a fighting chance. R.I.P. little buddy! :o(

I keep a squeak toy in my camera bag and sometimes use it to draw a reaction from the animals. Bambi perks up an ear or two when she hears it.

I met with my neighbor to photograph her Shi-Tzu, Ophelia, (or Ophie) at Wright-Locke Farm. Ophie is still young, but she's growing into a fine lady. I squeezed a squeak toy to get her attention for this shot.

Squeaker is a fixed female former feral kitty. She is basically a wild animal, some feral cats socialize well and some hang on to their instincts over all else. After over a year now, I am the only one who can pet her and only when feeding or she is sleeping. She is great with cats though, just not people.

A short but sweet interview with Indi over at Kid Independent last December! Yay!

When Bella wants something, she squeaks.. & squeaks… The noise is accompanied by this innocent look! The photo was taken in the kitchen, between squeaks, when Bella wanted food. Happy Caturday.

Those eyes - she usually gets what she wants!

I had to take our cat in today to have her put down.

Her journey with us started 13 years ago when we captured her along with her 2 brothers and mom. We had them all spade and neutered. When the kittens were weaned, mama kind of disappeared, the 3 kittens stayed.

Squeak was the runt of the litter, but outlived her brothers.

After a couple of weeks of curing the miniature black panther's ailments, she was finally declared fit enough to be spayed.

So this morning, after a very noisy drive full of demands to be fed, I managed to leave a very irate kitty at my vets.

Who would of thought such a tiny creature could be so vocal and have the art of projecting her loud meows down to a fine art.

Hopefully she will be ready to collect this evening.

There are lots of wonderful animals at The Piggery Cafe in Sassafras including two pet pigs called Bubble and Squeak . . . not sure which one this sleepy is!

Today I saw Squeak at the bird bath for the first time. He/she was just about to take a nice sip of water.

I am looking after my sisters hamsters this week, such wonderful characters, this is Squeak the most lazy of the two, will try and post a photo of his friend bubble in a few days.

Taking hand held videos with a DSLR leaves something to be desired.

I didn't have any treats for Ivy, so I used a squeak toy to maintain her attention. She'd just finished a walk and was feeling energized. I take her out for 1.5 miles every day while her owners are away. She's an odd mix of many breeds, most notably cattle dog and Maltese.

It was very cute and very little

Wood Ducklings fresh out of the tree - Suburban New Jersey, 25 miles west of "The City" (NYC)

I was sitting on the back stairs when I saw a small bird on the ground moving in a strange way that made me think it was a Woodcock. But then when I looked at it through my binoculars, gees Louise, it was a duck!

It seemed it must have hatched later than its siblings, and was following the rest of the hatch (that were calling out to it and/or their absentee parents) downhill to a little stream at the bottom of the grade. I ran to get my 6, but by the time I got it together the little troop was within 50 feet of the stream where I managed to get a half dozen captures before they disappeared into a 3 foot drain pipe where the stream went under a road.

All in all an exciting 15 minutes!

Who knew there were Wood Ducks nesting right in my own back yard 100 - 200 yards from a little stream on the edge of my neighbor's property?

So... After a breezy day on the levels, with woodpeckers, sun and showers, I went on an owl hunt, parking up to see if the pair that were on the wing last night came out again around the same time... I gave them an hour or so but no show, so I popped over to see another owl that's been an early bird in the past. She was out hunting already, but really struggling with the wind, which had picked up by then. I watched her for an hour or so, but she didn't make a kill...
