1971 Austin Sprite at the Dural Men's Shed Car Show. By 1970 the deal with Donald Healey had ended and so the Sprite made that year were simply Austin Sprites
Maruxa por fin ten cabelo. A ver canto tarda a pobriña en ter roupa... hihi.
Maruxa por fin tiene pelo. A ver cuánto tarda la pobre en tener ropa... haha.
Maruxa's got hair!
Who knows how long will get some clothes... hoho.
I'd guess that this dates from around 1970. Apart from being a bit grubby it looked in excellent condition. I think it's a Musketeer, possibly an Alpine. No, it's definitely an Alpine; see Philip's comment below. These were the most popular caravans in the UK at the time, but most probably fell apart decades ago.
The registration belongs to a 1965 VW which was last taxed in 1984.
I wasn't sure if I should upload this clip. This uploaded timelapse is not the best quality (original is better) but I wanted to show how sprites appear. The first revealed sprites (stops for 1 second) is located just right of center; the 2nd just over house in lower left; and the remainder just above the light just right of the house. These are pretty faint. However, this gives some idea of how a typical night sesson goes. There are 1000 10 sec exposures that make up this clip.
Between the 1st and 2nd sprites, near the center, you can faint see red air glow waves moving from right to left.
Gladys paced back and forth in the living room, wringing her hands nervously. The exterminator had been down in the basement for an awfully long time now. Suddenly she heard him tromping back up the stairs.
"W-well," she asked nervously. "Did you find anything?"
"Yeah, it's just like I figgered," said the exterminator, gesturing with his flashlight. "Lady, you got wood sprites."
"Oh dear," cried Gladys. "Is that bad?
"It ain't good," said the exterminator. "We're gonna need to tent this whole place pronto. It shouldn't run more than two thousand. Three thousand, tops."
"Oh my," croaked Gladys. "I-I'll have to speak with my husband about this first, you understand."
"Sure, sure, lady," he said. "But I wouldn't advise waitin' too awful long. They're settin' up shop down there like crazy. They got a pretty big nest behind the water heater and it looks like they're settin' up satellite colonies next to the furnace and over by the sump pump. The whole basement is glowin' blue. If you don't do somethin' soon this whole place is gonna fall down around your ears.

These two are Stone Sprites from Will o' Wisp Dolls.
I counted myself very lucky to bring even one of these little Sprites home, but I couldn't help pouncing when the chance came up to add two more!
Although this photograph was taken some time ago, from their box opening, I wanted to get it posted and say that there is currently a pre-order open for these lovelies!
While I won't be participating in the Stone Sprite pre-order -- I must grudgingly accept that three is probably enough -- it's a great chance for someone else to get one of these adorable little dolls.

Working on the Sprites with the macro was intensely challenging. Trying hard to get them sitting still and free of grass stems. Very hard to get the entire body in focus as well. This was a surprise picture. I was never attempting to get them in flight. I really like this one though :)
Continuous lightning occurred from around 9PM to 11:15PM when clouds moved in to cover stars. This particular line of thunderstorms stretched from Wheatland, WY thru to Rapid City, SD and beyond. In nearly two hours, I caught more than 15 sprites. This is just one that was rather tall (partially hidden behind cloud).
Also note mammatus clouds in anvil. This cell over about 90 miles away.
A cheerful spring welcome near the entry steps. . . . Thanks to Liliane, we now know that these flowers are called Gaura.
