Just adored this little sprite like chap wafting his autumn leaves about. Just hoping the recent wind and rain has not removed too much for next time I'm out.
Austin Healey Sprite the original "bug eye sprite" small two seater bouncy noisy and very cool, almost purchase one while I was in the UK for 3 years, I opted for a Sports Sedan a bit more "practical". I have always been passionate about "knuckle draggers" having owned 8 of them, this one lives in North Carolina.
Another non-promotional photo. It's an excercise in trying to learn Black Dragon. A bit confusing, but like anything, with practice it gets better....I hope.

A water sprite (also called a water fairy or water faery) is a general term for an elemental spirit associated with water, according to alchemist Paracelsus. Water sprites are said to be able to breathe water or air, and in some cases, can fly. They are mostly harmless unless threatened.

It is a member of the bird family Columbidae (doves and pigeons). In common usage, this bird is often simply referred to as the 'pigeon'. The domestic pigeon descended from this species. Escaped domestic pigeons have raised the populations of feral pigeons around the world. Wild rock doves are pale grey with two black bars on each wing, whereas domestic and feral pigeons vary in colour and pattern. Few differences are seen between males and females. The species is generally monogamous, with two squabs (young) per brood. Both parents care for the young for a time. Habitats include various open and semi-open environments. Cliffs and rock ledges are used for roosting and breeding in the wild. Originally found wild in Europe, North Africa, and western Asia, pigeons have become established in cities around the world. Thank you all for your kind comments and interest in my images. As you can tell, I'm having a lot of fun exploring the underwater world these days with my waterproof camera. It's a great place to be in the heat of summer!
The colors, lighting, textures are so dreamlike underwater there's not much need for post processing (just a little tweaking). I never expected there would be reflections below like there are above. It's like passing through a magical threshold.

Red sprite lightning reaching from top of thunderstorm clouds upwards towards space. A very difficult subject made easier by Paul M Smith's guidance in his Red Sprite Workshop. Fort Stockton, TX.
Red Sprites on 01.02.2021, over the thunderstorms of the E. Aegean sea. One can observe the parent lightning's flash below the sprite. I've used a Sigma 20 mm lens at f/1.4 with 20k iso.
