Springwatch returns this May!

Spotted a lovely 7-spot ladybird out in the garden this morning

For a second year my Badger shot is being used for the 'Watch LIVE' link on the BBC's Springwatch Home page and also on their Facebook and Twitter page as a link to the CBBC 'Animals of Spring' quiz.

This pretty butterfly is pretty much only found on the south coast of the Isle of Wight in the UK. I was pleased to see over 20+ individuals today.

In the Dundee Howff graveyard today.

There were pheasants everywhere yesterday,at the moment they are fairly tame as they are more interested in finding a mate.

This wall was painted during Springwatch 2024 at Arne RSPB reserve in Dorset.

The wall is situated near the cafe & shop. Whilst I was there I had to wait for a couple to move their bikes & eventually I asked if they were leaving soon as I wanted to take photos. She said to her partner words to the effect, "perhaps it was a stupid place to lean her bike" uh!!!. The handles were resting on the Dartford Warblers face, the wall will soon be spoilt if people don't think. There was a very ordinary wall a mere 3 yards away.
