Came across these boxing hares on the Yorkshire Wolds but unfortunately my lens was not long enough!
The second of my head to head of red deer portraits.
This young man was the lord of a small herd of about ten deer. Unlike the more mature brute down the glen this young man was very attentive and affectionate to his companions.
It's always a pleasure to see these beautiful wild animals in their natural environment.

One of a sequence of photos of one the many Dolphins (possibly two separate pods) that we saw hunting, leaping and apparently playing with yachts while anchored in Sanna Bay (near Ardnamurchan Point) on the west coast of Scotland.
Like many of the Dolphins we saw it seemed to have many scars on its skin.
Cropped as taken from a long distance from the deck of a yacht.
I was watching the voting results for the UK national bird and could hardly believe my eyes when I THOUGHT I saw my name on the wren in at number 4. Needless to say it went so fleetingly that I had to check on i Player. Lo and behold it WAS my pic that they'd used. Fame at last
One more day to go, then normal service will resume. In the meantime I'll be milking this for all I can... LOL :@D

Ants - they're amazing creatures! They will tend small flocks of aphids, seeking the sugar-rich honeydew the aphids produce as they suck sap from the plant. In turn, the ants protect the aphids from predators, such as ladybirds and lacewings, and recent studies have shown them also protecting the aphids from fungal outbreaks that cause death by removing bodies of infected aphids. Ain't nature awesome?

Series of two from last night's Springwatch. I nearly fell off the sofa last night when this clip came on. I thought, I recognise those cliffs! Springwatch had said they may use some of my videos but did not tell me what, where or when, it could have been on Facebook, YouTube or the programme. Only the opening sequence of the cliffs is mine (Splash Point at Seaford).
