Puffin with a beak full of sandeels

Nesting in a box we had out and very wary when they come back with nesting material.

My spider has come home to roost. A very big thank you to Terry Bagley (top bloke), who had hatched a plan with Lucy 'Lapwing' Hodson, to get our Q-cards out of Springwatch HQ... and signed by Chris and Meg !!

On the river Lyon yesterday.

As you may imagine, I took quite a few... indulge me!

We are very lucky to discover this week that a pair of tree sparrows have decided to build a nest in one of our nest boxes. We had three spent the winter of 2017/18 in our garden, but disappeared last spring. We hadn't seen any since. But on Thursday evening I noticed a bird poking out of the nest box, grabbed my bins and saw that we had tree sparrows! They have spent the weekend taking beakfuls of nesting material in. They seem not to bother about me gardening which is good. Hopefully they will be successful, as these are on the red list.

In Tentsmuir forest this morning.

Another LTT I found on the BBC Sprindwatch Facebook Page... This one from way back in 2017 !! :@)

Starling - In my back garden, Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, Scotland.

Came across these boxing hares on the Yorkshire Wolds but unfortunately my lens was not long enough!

Juvenile great tit having to sit it out in the rain - what a welcome to the world

Four babies from nest appeared in our garden, not sharp but was curious.

First time I've ever seen one let alone photgraph one, Yay :-)

They were looking good in Meigle in Perthshire this afternoon.

The second of my head to head of red deer portraits.

This young man was the lord of a small herd of about ten deer. Unlike the more mature brute down the glen this young man was very attentive and affectionate to his companions.

It's always a pleasure to see these beautiful wild animals in their natural environment.

I was watching the voting results for the UK national bird and could hardly believe my eyes when I THOUGHT I saw my name on the wren in at number 4. Needless to say it went so fleetingly that I had to check on i Player. Lo and behold it WAS my pic that they'd used. Fame at last

One more day to go, then normal service will resume. In the meantime I'll be milking this for all I can... LOL :@D
