Click "Polynomial Order 2" to get a parabola, which this graph seems to be. Then click "display equation on chart" Congratulations! You've got an equation for position versus time for an object flying through the air pulled down by gravity.
Logger Pro records the time from when the video capture button was pressed. We aren't interested in the time before the bird started moving. Thus, we want to subtract out the first time from every time, to shift the time values to having t=0 be when the bird first started moving.
This is easy in a spreadsheet. You type the = sign to let the computer know you want a calculation. You click on the first value of data that you want to analyze. This will be recorded with the cell number, in this case A2. You then use the minus key and the number pad to tell it what to subtract.
Our formula here is
=A2-2.463
