I love halloween and all of the traditions associated with it, the costumes, jack-o-lanterns, and most of all the scary yard displays that people create. I love that people embrace the dark side. And even though it all comes down to a few hours on the evening of October 31st, the dark motif seems to encompass nearly the entire month. Even by the end of September I begin to notice all manner of ghosts strung up in trees, fake gravestones on front lawns, skeletons, witches, and on and on. I delight in seeing how different people interpret what is scary. The displays range from very tame to completely over the top. These wide-eyed beauties caught my eye recently. Their faces seem so expressive; felt like I had caught them having a moment. The spindly fingers really added a sense of animation.

Prabhakaran, Ranjith, Ravi and myself, treated ourselves to an early morning drive along East Coast Road, and reached Muttukadu, prior to Sunrise. We had an amazing time capturing pre-dawn images, as well the gorgeous sunrise.
I begin to share some of these images over the week, part by part.

I tend to tuck my skirts under me, being ladylike, but I thought I spread this one out a bit to show it's fullness. I still have just my camera phone but the little tripod I bought is helping. Except I can't get the remote control bit to work but I'll keep trying.

i am lucky, i get to do landscaping in the cool autumn days, i love greening things up around the house, seeding fescue, hyssop, clover, and digging out old stumps, rotten logs, that i spread out as mulch over the lawnseed!
