Mask up - stop the spread. Preventing or limiting spread of an airborne virus is not rocket science. Cover your mouth and nose with a suitable mask in enclosed public spaces.
While this should have been the case already in the UK, during this period of accepting 1000 deaths per week, it is most definitely the case now with the unknown risk that the Omicron variant presents.
Better to over-react protectively and relax later than to become overwhelmed by not reacting enough. Stay safe everyone. This is not just about life and death, this is also about long-term debilitating disease, the burden of which will be enormous before this is all through.
It's been some time ago and some thousands of kilometers outside the lockdown limits. Rainbow Bee-eater was getting ready to fly into the morning sun...

Zinnias are one of my favourite cutflowers and the show of zinnias was terrific this year! (They like heat)! While out walking, I spotted a house that sported zinnias along the sidewalk, around the home, along the driveway and just about everywhere! I didn't have my camera so I used my phone for the shot. Then, I couldn't help but have a little fun with these already joyful flowers.

The Fothergill Brothers ran a promotion where they put golden tickets into 4 of their sand bars for a grand prize of plow extra 2 months prior notice of the day. With the warm temperatures coming and the snow settling, the New Hampshire Northcoast decided to run the 1920 built Jordanspreader. The snow wasn’t flying like last years but still cool to see. This handsome little bird is a dark-eyed junco that I scared off of the trail on my last nature walk. Dark-eyed junco have in several different races and are one of the most wide spread birds in North America. I’m not sure which race this one is. Either an Oregon, a pink-sided, or a hybrid of those two races. A handsome little bird at any rate.
The past few days, my garden has been aflutter with these beautiful creatures... the minute I see them, I run out with my camera in hopes to spot one of mine that I tagged... or one from another area.... but so far I haven't.... but that doesn't stop me from taking tons of pictures!!

A small sampling of yesterdays images. The weather was crappy and I didn't have a lot of time... but
Remember the Rangers in the previous foto? Well these school children from SMK (P) Kapar happened to join our group and they were all standing at the spot where the Rangers were looking for stragglers. Usually the Muslim girls wear 'tudung' (scarf) when they go out from their house. The girls were actually waving to their teacher who was using a compact camera. Take a guess what the result would be on the teacher's camera. I was using a powerful flash gun for this at 1/8 power.
As you can see here, I managed to 'spread the light' until the background by using Lightroom's Fill Light and Recovery. Because I shot in RAW, I managed to present the true colours (a bit vivid for effect) of their dress and scarf. Then, I transferred to Corel PSP-X2 for sharpenning and noise removal and final editing. Wonderful a good software can do for you!
