This is a beautiful plant I bought for my garden back in September. It is still flowering beautifully. I am wondering if it will survive the weekend as we are supposed to hit 41 C on Saturday and Sunday - Summer doesn't officially start until Monday. I always dread our extreme Summers.

Nemesia Escential Raspberry Lemonade (Nemesia hybrid) features masses of fragrant flowers on a spreading groundcover. The dainty two tone flowers are a bold and colourful choice for garden beds and pots.

It feels great to be able to take off and explore the world at your will like this Monarch. We are on another road trip. Although we are not flying anywhere, we are exploring at our will. This time we are spending time with our granddaughters who we haven’t seen in a year. They are certainly spreading their wings and becoming more confident and independent. We gave them our old DSLR cameras to go on a few photography outings with us. The girls are 9 and 11 years old. They are catching on pretty quick. One of them is intrigued with the effects that a shallow depth of field can give, like with this image. They are using the Olympus E-620 and the Canon 60D. I love going through their images and seeing their version of the world. Once I get home, I’ll download their favourite shots and put them into a mini book for them for Christmas. I am pleasantly distracted again from Flickr. I will catch up later. Happy Wing Wednesday!

Mask up - stop the spread. Preventing or limiting spread of an airborne virus is not rocket science. Cover your mouth and nose with a suitable mask in enclosed public spaces.

While this should have been the case already in the UK, during this period of accepting 1000 deaths per week, it is most definitely the case now with the unknown risk that the Omicron variant presents.

Better to over-react protectively and relax later than to become overwhelmed by not reacting enough. Stay safe everyone. This is not just about life and death, this is also about long-term debilitating disease, the burden of which will be enormous before this is all through.

Hello Everyone,

Zinnias are one of my favourite cutflowers and the show of zinnias was terrific this year! (They like heat)! While out walking, I spotted a house that sported zinnias along the sidewalk, around the home, along the driveway and just about everywhere! I didn't have my camera so I used my phone for the shot. Then, I couldn't help but have a little fun with these already joyful flowers.

Last Saturday Evening I met up with Andy and we went over to Baslow Edge with the hope of capturing some early flowering Bell heather, we arrived to a cloudy sky with the sun hidden from view but luckily we didn’t have to wait long before it dropped below the clouds spreading glorious warm light over the landscape with the added bonus of brightly colourful clumps of heather which we found nestled amongst the gritstone.(Olympus EM-1 mkii 7-14mm f/2.8 pro 1/125 f/6.3 @ 7mm Kase Wolverine 4 stop Reverse grad)
