I took this photo at one of the first beaches I used to visit for photography - Spoon Bay. It was also where I lost my first camera to the wave gods. It was also one of the first pics taken with my first Olympus micro 4/3 camera. Lots of firsts. Does the red algae in this photo remind anyone else of War of the World and the red weed?
Did you know that the algae in this shot married some weed? I hear their marriage is on the rocks now 😬 I heard the music at their wedding was quite interesting , all algae rhythms
Humpday here , happy Wednesday when it arrives wherever you are 😀

Hello my amazing Flickr friends !
Today is a black and white day at Color my World Daily and we celebrate Sliders Sunday.
Yesterday I had an awesome time with my family. We were celebrating my parents 52 wedding anniversary and guess what ? We went to a restaurant ! The last time we were all together in a restaurant was at the end of 2019. Of course, we had (or should I say : I had) way too much food and alcohol (especially alcohol in my case)… so as we all expected it: I have a huge hangover today. My day should be very interesting, since I have to (actively) help my son making a gorilla from « papier maché » for a school project due Monday morning (yes, I know it is only 24 hours away…). Gorillas are my youngest son’s favorite animals. Each year, my son secretly hopes, that we will adopt a gorilla and he will happily live with us like a family member. As a mom, I’m absolutely agains it: gorillas are almost as messy as my kids and I dont want to have extra house chores… on the other hand maybe we could train the gorilla to make all the house chores for us (maybe he will be a better cook than I am !!)… but I’m pretty much sure there must be some laws against it… It is very possible that I will not be able to answer all your comments today: making a gorilla from paper isn’t an easy task especially when your hair is hurting and your vision is still blurry…
Mucho, mucho amor for you all !! Have a beautiful day !
Thank you so much for all your lovely comments / favs/ general support / happy thoughts!! Stay safe and well!!

A Roseate Spoonbill forages in shallow water in this shot from the 2019 archives, captured at Circle B Bar Reserve, near Lakeland, Florida.
According to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology:
"Roseate Spoonbills forage in shallow waters typically less than 5 inches deep. They sweep their partly opened spoon-shaped bill through the water, feeling and looking for crustaceans such as shrimp, prawns, aquatic insects, and fish. Once they feel the prey on their bill they snap it closed, often swallowing the item whole."

Hidden at the back of a small workshop in an off the beaten track Cuban town I found this creative piece of art.
An abstract macro of reflections on spoons, knives and forks reflecting on the meals they've shared together. #reflection #utensils #macro #abstract #食器 #Geschirr #Makro #vaisselle
Another rainy day and no chance to get ouside for some shooting. So why not playing around with the stuff that`s inside the house ? Sometimes it doesn`t need much for a macro image. Thought i go for some reflections this afternoon and found something little in my kitchen. Here you go - i call it "spoon reflections" :)
Thank you for your visits, comments and favs!
